Chandigarh ITI Result & Merit List

Chandigarh lies towards the Northern part of India and is the capital of 2 adjoining states: Haryana and Punjab. Chandigarh is recognized to be both a city and a union territory in India. In Chandigarh, the governing body of the technical training centres is the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE).

Due to the rapid pace of development in India, the need for skilled persons has increased. Besides, the industrial sector is facing a shortage of skilled resources. Also, the unemployment rate is high in the country. Thus, to address the stipulated issues, several government-funded Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and privately-run Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) for imparting technical education are being set up.

Both at the national level and state level, there are appointed representatives of the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) respectively, for coordinating technical education.

After developing the required skills and appearing for the All India Trade Test (AITT), the students are awarded the National Trade Certificate for the trades that come under the NCVT category. Conversely, for the SCVT trades, the pupils have to take trade tests to attain the State Level Trade Certificates. These certifications make them eligible to apply for income-earning opportunities both at the national level and state level respectively.

The various engineering and non-engineering trade programs are held in 4 semesters.
