Since this University is situated near the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, it has got its name after this holy shrine. This esteemed University is a wholly residential University providing technical education in areas of Engineering, Science, Management and Philosophy &Languages in form of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate courses. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is recognized by the University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education and Council of Architecture and the Government of India.
