Every year, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) conducts the DMRC exam to recruit employees for a series of executive and non-executive positions. Through the DMRC exam, the candidates can apply for posts like Junior Engineers, Train Operators, among others. The shortlisted candidates gain employment in the various DMRC and other related projects. However, they should be willing to reside in Delhi.
To apply for the DMRC exam, the authorities release the prescribed Application Forms. Then, the aspirants have to collect and fill the required particulars in the Form. Subsequently, they must submit the filled Application Form along with the mandatory documents.
The DMRC examination is held in 2 phases: Paper-I and Paper-II. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for this exam. Besides, they must fulfill the minimum educational qualification and age criteria (depending on the post that they are applying for) for them to be eligible.
Paper-I and Paper-II contain multiple-choice questions, with negative marking system. Also, the candidates have 150 minutes to answer both Paper-I and Paper-II.
The sections in Paper-I include the ones on General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Trade Knowledge. Further, Paper-II has only section: General English.
To clear the exam, the aspiring candidates have to score the minimum cut-off score.
DMRC Exam: Preparation Tips
- The aspirant has to be a graduate to be eligible to appear for the DMRC exam. Also, they must be well-versed with the varied subjects of their graduation course.
- The candidates should revise the topics of their graduation course regularly as part of their DMRC preparation efforts.
- Read as many newspapers as you can to remain updated on the latest developments. Note that general awareness has an integral role in the DMRC exam.
- Both Paper-I and Paper-I are conducted on the same day. However, do not panic or take stress. Only make sure that you study hard and do your best.
- Solve as many previous years’ question paper to get enough practice and know more about the exam pattern. In fact, you should refer to past 5 years question papers if possible.
- The aspirants should study the paper pattern. Accordingly, they must plan their study schedule and make sure to cover all topics and subjects in the process.
- Refer to good study material that the experts recommend. Also, online resources can be helpful, so you can use them too.
- Learn time management, so you can answer each question in the time limit.
- During the exam, start by answer the questions that you find easy. For the difficult ones, do not waste extra time over them. Only if you have time later on, then come back to them.
- The applicants must study all topics thoroughly. Also, they must complete the syllabus a month prior to the exam and only revise during the final days.
- Practice answering multiple-choice questions as they are an important part of the DMRC exam.
- Plan your study schedule as per your suitability. For example, set the study hours depending on when your concentration levels are high.
- Take mock tests on a periodic basis and only after studying the entire syllabus.
- For the mathematical problems, rely on your knowledge of the fundamentals only for greater accuracy.
- Draft study notes for they can be of help during revision.
- Develop the habit of reading books for improving your English Grammar. Remember that Paper-II tests the candidates on English Language and reading is the best way to excel in this section.
- In addition to books, English Dictionaries are a good source to enhance vocabulary too. Thus, you must refer to them as well.
- Get enough sleep at night and consume nutritious foods – for remaining healthy. Practicing an exercise program, also, helps to improve your overall health.
- Ensure that you reach the examination hall before the appointed time. All the same, leave home early so you arrive on time at the center.
- Make sure that you carry your Admit Card and other identity cards to the examination center, for the authorities will check the documents to confirm your identity.
