In the year 2014, the KLE Technological University was formed at Hubli, Karnataka, India. Previously, the University was known as B. V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (BVB-CET) that was given academic autonomy in the year 2007 by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Then, the autonomous institution was declared a state, private University by the Government of Karnataka and, also, accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
