The IBPS PO exam is conducted for recruiting personnel for positions such as Probationary Officers and Management Trainees to fill the vacancies in the participating institutions. These include Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and public sector insurance companies.
The Union Government of India, the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks’ Association, and the 20 PSB participants approve this exam.
Some of the participating PSBs who consider scores of the IBPS PO exam include Dena Bank, Punjab National Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Vijaya Bank, Syndicate Bank, among others.

IBPS PO Exam: Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification
The candidate is required to hold a degree in any relevant stream from a recognized educational board or any recognized equivalent degree.
- Age Limit
The applicant has to be between the ages of 20-30 years in the year that they are applying. However, if applying via the reserved classes, then they are given some relaxations in age criteria.
- Nationality
Aspiring candidates have to be an Indian Citizen. Residents of other countries can apply as well; only they have to satisfy the criteria that are specific to their home country.
IBPS Po Exam: Syllabus
The IBPS PO exam assesses the students on their Reasoning skills, knowledge of English Grammar, Numerical Ability, and General Knowledge & Computer Skills.
IBPS PO Exam: Pattern
The IBPS PO exam is divided into two stages: the Preliminary exam and the Main exam.

Preliminary Exam
As part of the Preliminary exam, the candidates are given 100 objective-type questions on the following subjects. The duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. Based on the candidate’s marks in the Preliminary exam, they qualify for the Main exam.
Reasoning Ability: (35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes)
Quantitative Aptitude: (35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes)
English Grammar: (30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes).

Main Exam
The main exam contains a total of 200 multiple-choice questions and runs for 3 hours.

General Awareness: (40 questions, 40 marks, 35 minutes)

Note
For both the preliminary exam and main exam, the examiners will deduct 0.25 of the marks gained for incorrect answers.
IBPS PO: Exam Dates
The preliminary exam of the IBPS PO exam is conducted in October; and the main exam, in November.
IBPS PO Exam: Cut-off Score
To qualify for the following interview rounds of the IBPS exam, the candidate has to score the minimum marks in both Preliminary and Main tests and the Total Weighted Standard Score. The authorities determine the cut-off points based on averages. Only passing the individual exam does not suffice, the applicants have to score adequately high overall to be called for an interview.
The number of vacancies is considered for deciding the IBPS PO cut-offs. The selection of candidates for the subsequent rounds ensues based on their total score.
IBPS PO Exam: Different Rounds
The selected candidates are called for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The authorities consider the score of the candidates in the exams, GD, and PI to calculate the total marks and overall rank of the candidates, based on which the final Merit List is prepared.

To apply for the IBPS PO exam, the aspirants have to register on the official website, http://www.ibps.in/. More so, they have to tender the Application Fee.
IBPS PO Exam: Admit Card
After receiving all applications, the examiners issue Admit Cards to the eligible candidates who have applied before the given deadline.
The Admit Cards of the shortlisted applicants are uploaded on the official website on the stipulated dates. The candidates have to visit the IBPS official website to download their respective ones.
The IBPS PO Admit Card for the Preliminary exam is provided to aspirants who have successfully completed the application process. And the IBPS PO Admit Card for the Mains Exam is issued to the candidates who have passed the Preliminary exam stage.
IBPS PO: Exam Result
The IBPS PO exam result is accessible from the official website. After declaring the results, a Merit List of all the qualifying candidates is drawn; they are given provisional allotment.
The first step is the release of the Scorecard, after which the Provisional allotment details of the selected candidates become available.
