The Unified Reimaged Innovation for Students Empowerment Tool (U-RISE) portal was recently introduced by the Uttar Pradesh Government. Using this portal, students can receive alerts about Government jobs and apply to the ones they are eligible for and interested in. 

Students from Uttar Pradesh can apply on the UP U-RISE portal. On the portal, they can find information about technical education, vocational training, and skills required. More so, they can use the portal for sharing ideas and connecting with others.

The students have to visit the official UP U-Rise portal, https://urise.up.gov.in/student/register or https://urise.up.gov.in/ , to register and apply online.

URISE is an initiative to bring together private, affiliated, aided, and public institutions on one platform. The objective of this all-inclusive platform is to enrich the pupils’ learning experience via imparting skills and providing quality vocational and technical education. In turn, they become empowered and can build successful careers in a field of their preference.

URISE portal offers the following student services

Registration

All students who are enrolled in polytechnic institutes and ITIs are invited to register on the URISE portal. Upon registration, they remain members of URISE throughout their lives.

After they receive job training via courses, their profile is shared with potential employers. Then, they can avail any suitable, available opportunities.

Dashboard

The URISE portal has an AI-based custom-made dashboard that provides all the required information. Students can access the dashboard for details about courses, syllabus, fees, useful links, Digi Locker, e-content, and placements. Plus, they have an automated grievance forum to register any complaints.

E-Content

Pupils can also access the URISE portal for information about online certification courses, question banks, tutorials, in-house lectures, and counseling options by experts. Also, if a particular book is not available because it’s been issued to another student, they can check the dates on which it will be available.

Performance

The academic career of students spans several months and years. While the skill-based training courses last for some months, the technical courses run for 1-2 years. The parents of students can check their child’s academic performance via the ‘One View’ feature. Moreover, organizations use the ‘One View’ feature for verifying the candidate’s background when their job application is under consideration.

Attendance

The URISE portal has provisions for faculty members to mark the attendance of students for all classes, seminars, workshops, practicals, and training sessions.

Online Courses

During pandemics (such as the Covid-19 one) when attending regular classes is not possible or permitted by the Government, students can study via online classes. The faculty members can upload the study material on the URISE portal for the students to refer to. Students can also access a comprehensive central repository – obtained locally and globally – on the portal.

Grievances

In some cases, students face issues with the administration and faculty members. Or, they may have some grievances about their fees, hostels, and studies. Here, they can raise their concerns via the grievance section of the URISE portal. Subsequently, the concerned department will resolve the matter within a given time period.

Fee (Online Payment)

The URISE portal also accepts online tuition fees, exam fees, and re-evaluation fees. The various acceptable payment modes include net banking, credit card, debit card, challan via bank branch.

The portal has been designed to cater to students hailing from all walks of life. In cases where a student does not possess a debit card or credit card, they can generate the challan online and follow by depositing the fee at the stipulated bank branch.

Digi Locker 

The Digi Locker has been designed for storing the academic documents of students. A record of students’ mark sheets, diplomas, and certificates is maintained in the Digi Locker. The Digi Locker is accessible from anywhere and at all times.

The documents stored in the Digi lockers are considered to be original documents. Thus, students do not need to carry copies of their original documents for verification purposes. This protects the documents from getting lost in transit.

Feedback 

Students can also access the URISE portal to submit any suggestions or feedback for improving the services.

Registering and Logging in on the UP U-Rise Portal

The UP U-RISE registration and login processes are detailed below.

• To apply on the UP U-Rise portal, the candidates have to browse the official website, https://urise.up.gov.in/student/register or https://urise.up.gov.in/ 
• The system directs them to the Home Page
• Follow by clicking on the Register link that is found on the top right corner and in the Menu bar of the Home Page
• The Drop Down menu displays two options: Student and User
• Proceed by clicking on the ‘Student’ option
• Choose the institute (either ITI or skills training, or Polytechnic)
• Furnish details such as date of birth, enrollment number, email-ID, and mobile number
• You will receive OTP via, after which you must enter the OTP on the website for verification purposes
• Your login ID and password will be sent via SMS on your mobile
• Go to the home page and log in on the portal 
• Enter your login credentials like URISE ID, account type, password, among other details
• After logging in to your account, browse the student dashboard
