by The year of establishment of the Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy (AJIP) is 1994. AJIP is counted among one of the renowned Physiotherapy colleges in Delhi, having affiliation with the University of Delhi. Also, the University Grants Commission has approved the Institute.
The Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust is the promoter of this premier Institute. The Trust has been working since the year 1981 and, over the years, has been offering rehabilitative services to disabled persons via healthcare, education, self-employment, vocational training, and child guidance.
The AJIP was set up with the objective of delivering quality education with the latest technology and modern infrastructure to enhance the overall learning experience for the pupils.
Courses
The AJIP accepts applications for the undergraduate, 4.5 years Bachelor of Physiotherapy course (with a 6-month internship) and the postgraduate, 2-year Masters in Physiotherapy courses.
To select candidates for both the BPT and MPT courses, the aspirants have to appear for an entrance examination. Then, going by the overall performance of the candidates, the authorities will offer admission to the meritorious ones.
BPT Course
To be eligible for the BPT course, the candidate should complete their Intermediate exams (or any equivalent ones) with at least 50% aggregate marks in four main subjects (English as a Core subject, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology). Besides, they have to pass in each of the prescribed subjects individually.
MPT Course
To qualify for the MPT program, the applicant has to complete the BPT course from a recognized board or university. The students can choose between two streams under the MPT course: Neurological Physiotherapy and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
Facilities
At AJIP, the students are provided with a range of amenities. The Institute has a library, sports grounds, seminar halls, computer centers, and banks. More so, the pupils can avail Wi-Fi connectivity on the campus.
Placements are given to students via the Placement Cell too.
