Dyal Singh College, Delhi

The Dyal Singh College became a constituent college of the University of Delhi in 1959 and started operations from Delhi in India thereon. And since the year 1979, the University of Delhi has been maintaining the College. The official website of DSY is http://dsc.du.ac.in.

The DSY was developed from the estate of Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia; he offered his estate to set up an educational trust for building a secular college during the year 1895. The College was, earlier, set up at Lahore in 1910 and after partition started functioning from India.

In 2019, the NIRF ranked DSY as 20th among colleges throughout India. Also, during the year 2017, the NAAC awarded ‘A’ grade to the College.

Courses
Aspiring candidates can pursue a multitude of undergraduate and postgraduate programs at this esteemed College. They can enrol for programs in Arts, Social Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Science and Commerce streams.

For admitting pupils, the College releases the cut-off marks for the different courses. The candidates who secure the qualifying marks are considered eligible to apply. Subsequently, the College authorities grant admissions to the eligible candidates on merit basis.

Amenities
The DSY campus extends to over 11 acres of land, offering several amenities to the pupils for their holistic development. Computer labs, auditoriums, seminar halls, gyms, laboratories, medical aid, sports grounds – all are available on the College campus.

With the aim of providing placements to the pupils, the College has also instituted a Placement Cell. The Cell searches for internship and job opportunities for the pupils.
Besides, the College has set up a Research and Innovation Center for encouraging students to conduct research projects.

To develop a sense of socio-cultural responsibility in the pupils, the College runs NCC and NSS camps as well. Apart from that, a host of other extracurricular and co-curricular activities are organized by the College too.
