by The Government of Kerala set up the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) that is traceable to Pookode in Wayanad in the Kerala state of India. The KVASU started conducting academic sessions from the year 2010 onwards. Also, this esteemed university contributes to disseminating education and promoting research in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Having affiliation to the Kerala University, the KVASU has the approval of the UGC and AICTE. Moreover, the KVASU has 8 constituent colleges that are situated in various districts. These include Thrissur, Thiruvazhamkunnu, Kolahalamedu, Thiruvananthapuram, Pookode, and Mannuthy.
Courses
At the KVASU, applicants can apply for courses at undergraduate, doctorate, and postgraduate levels. Also, the University contains three faculties: Poultry Science, Dairy Science, and Veterinary and Animal Science.
Among the courses that KVASU offers are the BSc, MVSc, MSc, and BVSc & AH.
As part of the KVASU admission process, the students are given admissions on merit basis and as per their performance in the entrance exams.
Admission Criteria
The different courses that the KVASU conducts have varied eligibility criteria.
For admission into the Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry courses, the candidates are required to qualify the NEET-UG exam.
More so, they have to pass the entrance exam that the KVASU University conducts for gaining admission in the Master of Science, Master of Veterinary, Bachelor of Science, and Diploma programs.
Plus, for admissions into the PhD programs that KVASU offers, the aspirants are granted admissions as per their performance in the entrance test and personal interview round.

Extending over 100 acres of land, the KVASU University Headquarters at Pookode campus is equipped with a host of amenities for the students.
