All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS Raebareli

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS Raebareli in the Uttar Pradesh state started operations during the year 2013. The AIIMS branch in Raebareli is recognized as a medical research public university and hospital. An autonomous institution, the AIIMS in Rae Bareli is an Institute of National Importance via the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act of 2013. History

During the year 2009, as part of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) ‘Phase-II’ initiative, the proposal for building the AIIMS in Raebareli got clearance.

Upon the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act 2012 getting approval, the AIIMS in Raebareli was instituted as per a Gazette notification during the year 2013. 

In the year 2018, the outpatient department services of the AIIMS in Raebareli became functional. More so, this institute is mentored by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research under the leadership of the Executive Director, Arvind Rajwanshi.

During the year 2019, the AIIMS in Raebareli started conducting academic sessions. The first batch of 50 MBBS students was inducted in the year 2019. And in March 2020, Arvind Rajwanshi became the director of AIIMS, Raebareli.

Eligibility Criteria

To get admission in the 5-year AIIMS Raebareli MBBS course, the aspirants have to complete the 10+2 level of study. Plus, among their compulsory subjects, they should have studied Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Additionally, the general category candidates have to obtain a minimum score of 50% to be eligible. Moreover, they are required to pass the NEET Exam.

Based on their overall performance, the AIIMS authorities give admissions to the aspiring candidates.

Campus

Spanning over 90 acres of land, the AIIMS Raebareli campus is traceable to Munshiganj in Dalmau Road in Raebareli.

In October 2020, the construction of the mess building, hostels, staff quarters, and residential complex of the AIIMS in Raebareli was 100% completed while only 90% of the hospital was developed.

Spread in various locations, the main campus of the AIIMS Raebareli houses staff quarters, an administrative wing, the main hospital block, hostels, a medical college, and a temporary OPD block.

The students at AIIMS Raebareli can avail a host of facilities on campus. These include cafeteria, library, computer laboratories, medical care, hostels, among others.
