by The year of establishment of the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) in Varanasi is 1960. More so, the IMS bears affiliation with the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi. Being the medical school of the BHU, the IMS is equipped with three faculties – including Dental Sciences, Ayurveda, and Medicine. Also, this prestigious institution has various departments of Modern Medicine: Ayurveda, Dentistry, and Super-Specialty. In addition, the Institute has a school of Nursing.
At the IMS-BHU, aspiring candidates can apply for a range of medical and paramedical courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Courses
Among the courses that the IMS offers are MBBS, BSc in Nursing, BPharma, Ayurveda, BOT, BPT, BAMS, MDS. Besides, the Institute has provisions for the MD Ayurveda and MS Ayurveda.
Eligibility Criteria
As per the eligibility norms of the MBBS courses that IMS offers, the applicant is required to clear the 10+2 exam from a recognized state/central education board. More so, in the qualifying examination, the qualifying subjects, along with English, should include Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Physics. Plus, they have to score minimum 50% in the qualifying exam if applying via the general category.
Also, the aspirants have to qualify the NEET-UG to be eligible to apply for the program.
