GATE 2020 aspirants can download their respective Admit Cards from the official website, gate.iitd.ac.in. The GATE authorities uploaded the Admit Cards of the registered candidates (totaling to 8.6 lakh) on January 3, 2020.
Admit Cards contain various exam and candidate details. These include exam date and venue, candidate’s name and date of birth and address.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, is scheduled to hold the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The GATE exam will be held on February 1, 2, 8, and 9, 2020 this year. Also, the test will be conducted for 25 subjects and via computers.
To access their Admit Cards, the candidates must visit the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal. Upon entering the mandatory details, the Admit Cards are downloadable.
The GATE exam is convened by several premier institutes of India. These are inclusive of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore along with seven Indian Institutes of Technology (including the ones at Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Guwahati, Roorkee, Madras, and Kharagpur). These institutions conduct GATE on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE that works under the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Government of India.
GATE scores are considered by various MHRD-supported institutions. They admit candidates into their various Masters and Doctoral programs on the basis of the applicants’ GATE scores. Besides, some Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) consider GATE scores for recruiting candidates.
GATE tests the candidates’ understanding in different undergraduate subjects (such as Architecture, Technology, and Engineering) and postgraduate ones in Science stream.
In addition to varied examination centers that are spread across Indian cities, GATE will be held in 6 cities out of India as well.
The GATE authorities have, also, released Mock Tests for aspirants to become familiar with the exam pattern.
During July 2019, the exam dates were announced. Then, in September 2019, the exam details were given.
The GATE results will be released on March 16, 2020. Besides, the GATE scores will be valid for 3 years from the date of declaration of results.
