The Jagatpur Postgraduate College (JPGC) has been conducting academic sessions since the year 1971 from its base in Varanasi city, Uttar Pradesh state, India. Also, the JPGC has affiliation to the Mahatma Gandhi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi. The JPGC follows Gandhian principles and was set up for the upliftment of the rural population via quality education.
Initially, the JPGC had provisions only for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) course in 7 specializations. However, over the years, the college expanded its operations to include both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different streams. Presently, at the JPGC, students can specialize in the fields of Computer Applications, Commerce, Science, and Arts. Moreover, they have a choice of 14 subjects as part of the BA program.
Courses
The JPGC offers a range of courses. These include Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), and Master of Arts (MA), and Master of Commerce (MCom).
Also, the college offers different specializations under the MA program: English, Hindi, and History.
For admission in the BCA courses that the JPGC offers, aspirants should first pass the Higher Secondary / Intermediate exam (or any other equivalent examination).
Amenities
The JPGC focuses on the holistic development of the students and provides an array of facilities on campus. Students are given access to the centralized library, which is stocked with a collection of books, journals, and reference books. More so, the college encourages students to take part in a host of extracurricular activities to promote their talents. Apart from that, the college campus has auditoriums, laboratories, sports complexes, among other amenities.
