The Master of Science (MSc) is a 2-year, postgraduate-level course. It involves a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical sessions in fields related to the Science stream. Various colleges in India are offering the MSc program and they admit students for these courses based on merit or entrance test marks.

Although the eligibility criteria for the MSc course varies from college to college, the basic requirement includes securing the BSc degree (or a relevant discipline), with minimum 50% aggregate marks, from a recognized education board.

In addition to merit-based exams, the colleges offering the MSc course may also conduct entrance exams. The popular entrance tests for MSc admissions are AP PGCET, CPGET, IIT JAM, CUET-PG, ICAR AIEAA, and MCAER CET.

The MSc Admission Procedure

# Step 1: Read the Eligibility Criteria

Qualifying Exam: MSc aspirants are required to obtain a BSc degree, or a Bachelor’s degree from a relevant discipline, from a recognized board.

Qualifying Marks: Applicants must secure 50% to 60% aggregate scores in graduation to be eligible to apply to the MSc course.

#Step 2: Entrance Exams Preparation

Check the entrance exam you have to attempt to pursue the MSc course from your preferred college. The CUET-PG and IIT JAM are national-level entrance tests. Among the state-level entrance exams are URAT PG, AP PGCET, and ICAR AIEEA. Make sure to prepare well for the entrance exam to secure admission in a reputed college.

#Step 3: Submit Your Application

Go to the official portal of the college and register yourself, after which the system generates your Username and Password. Next, log in to your account with your credentials and download the online application form. Fill in all the mandatory fields in the form and upload the list of compulsory documents. Pay the application fee and then submit your application online.

#Step 4: Attempt the Entrance Exam

You are required to download your admit card when it becomes available and carry it to the exam hall. Along with that, you should have identification proof when appearing for the entrance exam. The examiner will check your documents beforehand.

#Step 5: Await Exam Results

The college authorities will release the merit list. If you are shortlisted, you have to attend the counseling rounds.

#Step 6: Attend the Counseling Rounds

At the counseling center, your documents will be verified and you will be allotted a seat in a college.

#Step 7: Complete the Admission Formalities

Visit the college and complete the necessary paperwork, along with tendering the admission fee.

MSc Admission 2025 Important Dates: –

Delhi University – CUET UG 2025 Schedule is out on the official website of NTA @nta.ac.in. The last date to apply is March 22, 2025. CUET UG 2025 Exam will be held from May 8 to June 1, 2025 (Tentatively).
IIT JAM: IIT JAM 2025 exam was held on February 2, 2025, and the MET 2025 Phase 1 exam will be on April 18 and 19, 2025
MET: MET 2025 Phase 1 exam will be conducted on April 18 and 19, 2025.
CUET PG: The CUET PG 2025 exam is ongoing for admission to PG courses for the academic year 2025-26, with the last date to register being Apr 1, 2025.
