Under the Narayana Group of Institutions, the Narayana Coaching Centre was the first to have been set up. From Nellore, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, the Academy started operations. The Coaching Institute was founded in the year 1979 by Dr. P. Narayana – a celebrated academician.
Initially, the Institute proposed coaching classes for the aspiring candidates of the competitive state-level entrance examinations. Then, in the year 1983, the Academy commenced operations full-fledgedly as an Institution. And by the year 1985, the Institute gained recognition for imparting quality education.
Later on, Narayana started several educational institutions (such as schools, colleges) in Nellore. More so, the Group started to provide professional education by setting up Dental, Medical and Engineering colleges.
Also, the Group has set up many other IIT-JEE coaching centers in Indian cities such as Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Nellore.
Presently, for getting admissions in India’s premier engineering and medical institutes, the candidates have to give the engineering (JEE Main and JEE Advanced) and medical (NEET) entrance exams. At Narayana, the aspirants can apply for coaching for the aforesaid entrance examinations.
Narayana: Teaching Methodologies
Narayana’s courses for engineering and medical coaching are divided into phases. And as part of the pupils training, there are practice sessions, tutorial classes, revision classes, and extensive training. There are, also, unit tests and regular tests for assessing the pupils’ performance.
Narayana provides the students with study material. More so, the teachers cover the topics from CBSE level. The Center has CBSE Board pattern tests too.
For preparing the pupils, the Academy conducts Common Practice Tests on a weekly basis, as per the JEE pattern too. Also, as part of the courses, the Center holds fortnightly tests and classroom sessions.
The students have to, also, appear for the Narayana’s All India Grand Test Series where they compete with other aspirants across India. At the Academy, the pupils can avail the Rank Promoting Package as well. This is in addition to Narayana’s Question Bank Grand Success Package that provides the students with questions from previous years’ papers.
Besides, at Narayana, the pupils have are given workbooks on a daily basis as part of their training. Students have to, also, give the All India Common Periodic Test that is conducted across Narayana centers.
Then, the Academy has the Board Understanding Evaluation Paper (BUEP) for testing the knowledge of the students, concerning the topics up to CBSE level. Moreover, there are All India Test Series where the pupils receive national rankings as part of their performance evaluation.
Further, the Narayana Test Series contain 6 part test and 6 full test ones, conforming to the JEE pattern. These consist of 2 question papers of 3-hour duration. And there are individual sections for Science (Chemistry and Physics) and Mathematics subjects.
Also, Narayana has the Doubt Clearance Cell that was started to clear the doubts of the students. Here, all through the day, the pupils can approach the teachers at the Cell to clarify any doubts.
Narayana gives feedback to the students on their performance as well. The parents can, also, interact with the teachers to understand how their child is faring.
Narayana: Courses Offered
Narayana proposes a host of courses for preparing the students for the competitive engineering (JEE Main and JEE Advanced) and medical (NEET) exams. Indeed, the Center has Classroom, Correspondence and Online Courses for coaching the JEE and NEET aspirants.
1) Classroom Courses
Narayana invites applications for coaching courses for the competitive engineering and medical entrance exams. However, for gaining admission in Academy’ Classroom courses, the applicants have to give the Institute’s Admission cum Scholarship Test. Then, on the basis of their performance, they can get scholarships.
Also, there are direct admissions where the pupils gain admission on their scores in the School / Board exams.

2) Correspondence Courses
Some JEE and NEET aspirants are unable to attend the regular classroom sessions and they can avail Narayana’s correspondence courses. For admissions in these programs, the Academy accepts direct applications where the applicant’s scores in the School/Board exam are considered.
3) Online Courses
Narayana’s Online courses are designed for Mobile, Tablet, and Personal Computer. These courses offer a blend of classroom sessions and self-study to the pupils.
