Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur

The Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College (GSVMMC) started conducting academic sessions from the year 1955 onwards. Also, the GSVMMC is traced to Kanpur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This prestigious medical college was built to honor the memory of the renowned freedom fighter, the Late Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi. 

Since the year 1968, the GSVMMC enjoys affiliation with the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) in Kanpur. More so, the College has the approval of the Medical Council of India (MCI). The official website of the GSVMMC is https://gsvmmedicalcollege.com/. 

The college accepts applications for a host of undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses in a range of disciplines.

Courses

At the GSVMMC, the students can submit their applications for the MBBS courses in 3 categories. These include Preclinical, Paraclinical, and Clinical. Under each category, the students have a choice between different specializations.

Moreover, after completing the MBBS course, students become eligible to apply for the MD/MS/PG Diploma courses. However, they are also required to qualify the NEET-PG as per the eligibility norms. Plus, the College offers a host of specializations under the postgraduate-level medical degree courses.

Additionally, at the GSVMMC, applicants can apply for 2 Super Specialty courses. They should complete the MD (Medicine) or MS (Surgery) courses to be eligible for these courses. In addition, they have to qualify the NEET-SS that the National Board of Education administers.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the MBBS courses that the GSVMMC conducts, the aspiring candidates should complete their 10+2 level of education from any recognized State or Central Education Board. Also, their subjects should include Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. More so, they are required to qualify the NEET-UG that the National Testing Agency conducts.

The MBBS course has 9 semesters, with each semester having a duration of 6 months – as instructed by the Medical Council of India. Also, the NEET is conducted at the pan-India level and over 3 hours.

Amenities

The GSCMMC is equipped with hospitals and colleges for the pupils to pursue medical education and training. Among the amenities that the College offers are lecture theaters, auditoriums, a Central Library, sports grounds, post office, among others.
