by The Government Degree College at Jahangirbad in Bulandshahr (GDCJB) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh was incorporated in the year 1997. This co-educational college comes under the Higher Education Department of the Uttar Pradesh Government. From the year 2017 onwards, the GDCJB has been affiliated with the ChaudharyCharan Singh University in Meerut. The official website of the GDCJB is http://gdcjahangirabad.edu.in/.
The GDCJB was set up to serve the higher education needs of the people around the rural areas of Bulandshahr. Also, the College charges low fees to make value-added education affordable to the students.
At the onset, the GDCJB was conducting courses in the Arts discipline through the Department of Arts. Then, in the year 2011, the College included the Department of Physical Education. Later, the Department of Sanskrit was also added.
Courses
The GDCJB accepts applications for Arts courses at the undergraduate level. The College conducts the 3-year, full-time Bachelor of Arts (BA) course.
Also, the Department of Arts of the GDCJB offers BA programs in seven subjects. These include Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Geography, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology.
Campus
Having a range of academic facilities, the GDCJB campus spans over 4363 acres of land. Among the facilities that are available for the pupils at the College, the campus is playgrounds and a computer center.
In addition, the College library has been stocked with a collection of books and other educational resources.
The GDCJB also offers placements to the students. For this, the Career Counseling & Placement Cell provides has been instituted.
Further, the College has the Cultural & Literary Committee and the Internal Quality Assessment Cell.
Plus, the College has a National Service Scheme unit that hosts an array of extracurricular activities. By participating in socio-economic drives, the students become responsible citizens of the country. As such, the College focuses on developing the pupils’ overall personality development by teaching them that freedom comes with responsibility.
