Govt Kamla Nehru Arts College, Balaghat
The Government Kamla Nehru Arts College (GKNAC), set up in the year 1983, is situated in the Balaghat city of India’s Madhya Pradesh state. The NAAC has bestowed the GKNAC with the “B” grade. Also, the GKNAC has affiliation with both the Chindwara University and Madhya Pradesh open university. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the GKNAC permits students to pursue correspondence courses from the Madhya Pradesh Bhoj University in Bhopal.
To empower girls through education, the GKNAC was established. The pedagogy of GKNAC includes multi-disciplinary studies in various fields: Arts/Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, Sciences, Sports, and Commerce. Besides academics, the GKNAC staff members encourage students to participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities for their all-round development. As part of the efforts of the college to boost curriculars, the staff members organize seminars, webinars, and workshops regularly.
Courses
The GKNAC offers 5 undergraduate-level courses and 2 postgraduate-level programs. Among the undergraduate courses, the college conducts the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), and Bachelor of Home Science (BHSc) courses. Under the Bachelor of Science (BSc) courses, the college offers specializations in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology / Physics, Maths, and Chemistry.
Where postgraduate courses are concerned, the GKNAC conducts the Master of Arts in Political Science and Master of Arts in Sociology.
Amenities
The GKNAC, having well-developed infrastructure, has a campus that spreads over 4 acres of land. The campus houses a girls’ hostel, a central library, and 2 large-sized playgrounds. Aside from that, the college campus has laboratories, computer centers, and fully-equipped classrooms.
