by The Manyavar Kanshiram Government Degree College (MKGDC) at Gabhana in Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh was incorporated in the year 2007. With the aim of serving the educational interests of people in the adjoining districts, the Uttar Pradesh Government set up the College. The MKGDC has accreditation with the Dr BR Ambedkar University in Agra. Besides, the MKGDC courses have the approval of the University Grants Commission. The MKGDC has been named after the social reformer and politician, Manyawar Kanshiram; he worked for the social upliftment of people and mobilized the political community for serving the interests of the Bahujan community in India.
The College holds undergraduate courses in seven subjects. Also, the College has seven departments in humanities and various other disciplines.
To enrich the educational experience for the pupils, the College also hosts a series of seminars, workshops, group discussions, debates, and competitions. More so, the College invites eminent academicians from all walks of life to encourage differential thinking among the students.
In all, the College aims to provide an environment that is conducive to studies for developing the pupils into professionals.
Courses
The MKGDC conducts the 3-year, full-time Bachelor of Arts (BA) program. The eligibility criterion of this course requires the candidate to pass the Class XII examination from a recognized board. Additionally, the eligibility norms require the candidate to secure 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.
Campus
The College campus extends over 4.5 acres of land and is developed with a host of infrastructural facilities. Also, the MKGDC campus has a host of provisions for enabling the students’ holistic development.
Transportation service, healthcare, Wi-Fi connectivity, computer centers, cafeteria, hostels, and sports centers – all are among the facilities that the MKGDC offers to the pupils. More so, the MKGDC library is well-stocked with books to encourage self-learning among the pupils.
