Maulana Azad Institute Of Dental Sciences, Delhi

The Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS) was granted independent status by the Government of NCT of Delhi in the year 2003. Previously, MAIDS was operating as the dental wing of the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). MAIDS is a co-educational college and has affiliation with the University of Delhi (DU). MAIDS has accreditation with the University of Delhi and the Dental Council of India. MAIDS has, also, been recognized as a ‘Center of Excellence’ by the Government of NCT of Delhi.

Earlier, the Institute was offering only undergraduate degree courses in Dental Surgery, namely the Bachelors degree in Dental Surgery. However, in the year 2007, the Institute set up provisions for also offering postgraduate courses in Dental Surgery, namely the Masters in Dental Surgery.

Besides, from the year 2008 onwards, the College started to offer IGNOU certificate programs in varied fields. These include advanced endodontics and implantology.

Courses
The BDS course lasts for 5 years, including a 1-year internship. Also, the MDS program runs for 3 years, offering eight dental-based specializations.

Application Process
For admissions for the BDS and MDS course of the Institute, the candidates are required to qualify NEET UG and NEET PG exams respectively.
Also, applicants have to meet the given eligibility forms as per the guidelines.

To be eligible for the BDS program, the aspirant has to pass 10+2 class exams while scoring at least 50% minimum aggregate marks in PCB.

As part of the eligibility criteria for the MDS course, the applicant has to secure a BDS degree from dental colleges that the DCI recognizes.

They should have completed the 1-year internship of the BDS program as well.

Amenities
The MAIDS campus is traceable to the heart of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and has a spacious campus. Further, the MAIDS campus has been developed with a range of amenities to develop the all-round personality of the pupils. These include canteens, auditoriums, a well-stocked library, amphitheater, among others. Also, separate hostels to accommodate boys and girls can be availed.
