The Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Government Degree College (PDUGDC) has been conducting academic sessions since the year 2004. The PDUGDC is located in Palahi Patti in the Varanasi city of the Uttar Pradesh state in India.
The NAAC has bestowed the PDUGDC with the āCā grade. Also, the PDUGDC has the accreditation of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Additionally, the PDUGDC has affiliation to the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth University, Varanasi, UP.
The main purpose of setting up the PDUGDC was to impart value-added education to youngsters residing in both the rural areas and urban districts of Varanasi.
The PDUGDC conducts courses in the Arts field at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The different departments of the PDUGDC are History, Physical Education, Hindi, English, Sociology, Home Science, Sanskrit, and Education.
Initially, the college offered 7 subjects under the Arts faculty. These include Home Science, Sociology, History, Education, English, Hindi, and Sanskrit. However, the college added the Physical education subject in the year 2012.
Courses
The PDUGDC has provisions for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA) programs.
Among the different specializations as part of the MA course, the students have a choice between subjects such as Home Science, Hindi, and Sociology.
Amenities
The PDUGDC campus extends over 8 acres of land and offers several infrastructural resources to propel the holistic development of the pupils. The college campus houses a well-stocked library containing a collection of books for reference purposes. Other than that, the college campus has sports grounds, laboratories, and auditoriums.
