Ramabai Government Women Post Graduate College Ambedkar Nagar

The Government of Uttar Pradesh incorporated the Ramabai Government Women Post Graduate College (RGWPGC) in the year 1997. A rural college, the RGWPGC is located in the Ambedkar Nagar district within the UP state. The RGWPGC is a government-run higher education institution that admits only female students. The RGWPGC bears affiliation with the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, traced to Faizabad in UP. More so, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has accredited the RGWPGC. Also, the NAAC has awarded the ‘B’ grade to the RGWPGC.

The Department of Higher Education of the Uttar Pradesh Government oversees the functioning of the administrative affairs of the College.

The RGWPGC comprises 3 faculties: Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanities, and Faculty of Science.

Courses

The RGWPGC accepts applications for its varied undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in different fields from female aspirants. The College has courses including Science, Humanities, and Commerce.

In the field of Humanities, the RGWPGC holds the UG-level Bachelor of Humanities (BA) and PG-level Master of Humanities (MA) courses.

The Faculty of Humanities offers UG and PG programs in subjects such as Medieval History, Political Science, Hindi, Sociology, and Home Science.

The Faculty of Science offers the BSc course in 2 groups: Maths group and Bio group. The Bio group provides BSc courses in streams such as Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. The Maths group has BSc programs in Chemistry, Physics, and Maths.

The Faculty of Commerce conducts the undergraduate-level Bachelor of Commerce course.

Campus

The RGWPGC campus has several facilities for driving the pupils’ holistic development. The Central Library is a storehouse of books and e-journals for UG and PG pupils. In addition, a range of activities are organized on campus, so the students can hone their educational skills.

NSS activities, sports fests, group discussions, seminars, and guest lectures – all are hosted by the RGWPGC on campus as part of the students’ extracurricular activities.
