The Delhi Government set up Satyawati College during the year 1972. The College is publically-funded and is named after Satyavati Devi; she was an active participant in the Indian Independence Movement. Satyawati College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Delhi and a coeducational college. The College is traced to Ashok Vihar in New Delhi. In the year 1973, the College started conducting evening classes. The NAAC has accredited the College with ‘A’ grade. Also, the College is recognized by the University Grants Commission.
Aspiring candidates can submit their applications for undergraduate-level and postgraduate-level courses. The College invites applications in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce.
Satyawati College strives for excellence in higher secondary education. Also, at the College, the focus is on the overall development of the students. As such, they are given opportunities to partake in sports and extra-curricular activities, alongside their academic pursuits.

Courses
The College offers undergraduate programs (including the Bachelors and Bachelors with Honours ones) in several disciplines. These include English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Economics, among others.
To admit students in the Bachelors’ degree programs, the College releases the cut-off marks. And the eligible applicants can then apply.
Though, under postgraduate courses, the College conducts only the MA in Political Science one.

The College campus spans 10 acres of land, with a host of amenities for the pupils to avail. The College boasts of a state-of-the-art auditorium (Satya), Sports department, well-maintained seminar rooms, and well-equipped computer laboratories. Also, the Dr Haldar Memorial Library on the College campus contains a vast collection of periodicals and books.
More so, the College has seminar rooms where debates, lectures, and discussions are organized. Canteen and medical facility centers are among other facilities that the College provides.
