The Swami Sharddhanand College (SSC) was founded during the year 1967 and is part of the University of Delhi. The Delhi Government has the trusteeship of the SSC. The College is co-educational and offers instructions in different subjects at both UG and PG levels. The College is traced to the North Campus of DU, after having shifted from its earlier premises in the Gandhi Ashram building in Narela. Courses
The SSC holds courses in Commerce, Science and Arts streams. Aspiring candidates can apply for UG courses including the BA, Ba (Hons), BCom, BCom (Hons), BSc and BSc (Hons) ones. The varied courses have different eligibility norms. And only the eligible candidates are considered for admission by the College authorities.
In PG courses, the SSC focuses in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences. The College conducts the full-time, 2-year MA in Hindi course. As part of the eligibility of this course, the applicant must secure a Bachelors’ degree. The DU lays down the admission rules for this program.

The College has an extensive campus, spanning 10 acres of land. Moreover, keeping in mind the overall development of the students, the College has provisions for a host of facilities. The College boasts of well-equipped laboratories and a well-stocked library. Moreover, the College campus has sports grounds where the students can play a variety of sports.
