Board of Higher secondary Education (BHSE), Delhi is an autonomous body which was established under the guidelines of national education policy in the year 1986. It was established with the main objective to regulate the non formal, Primary, Middle, Higher Secondary, Senior Secondary and Vocational exams in the state. Its main aim is to manage, run and establish best quality education institutions all over the country and to educate uneducated boys and girls especially from the weaker section of society so that they can lead a dignified life.
Annual examinations are conducting by the board in the month of March/April every year while the supplementary examinations are held in the month of September/October. Last date of submission of application form is 31st December while the last date of submission of examination fee is 15th February. The SSC examination is conducted in 335 centers where more than 7 lakh students undertake the exams. Total 101 subjects are covered and question papers are set six different languages. The SSC examination is conducted in 158 centers where more than 2 lakh students appear.
The board also conducts Talent Search exams for students of XIIth and IXth standard in five major subjects every year.
