Nagaland Board of School Education which is abbreviated as NBSE is the board of school education in the north eastern state of Nagaland. The board was set up through the Act by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on 15th November 1973. It is responsible for promotion and development of secondary and higher secondary education in the state.
The board was instituted to prescribe courses of instruction for examination, text books and syllabus, conduct examinations, and publish results etc are few among its many objectives. From the academic session 2014, the board along with RMSA has introduced several vocational courses such as information technology, travel etc. The vocational education will equip students with more skills and the certification can be jointly done by the Board and the Skill knowledge provider/industry.
