In India’s state of Arunachal Pradesh (AP), the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Technical Education (APSCTE) is responsible for conducting the Arunachal Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination (APJEE) that is held every year. The APSCTE comes under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education.
Upon clearing the entrance exam, the aspiring candidates get admission to the various diploma engineering programs of the Polytechnic institutes within the AP state. The application forms for the APJEE exam become available during the month of April. The APJEE exam is held in May. The admissions are merit-based, depending on the exam scores and ranks of the candidates.
There is need for technically-trained persons for facilitating the state’s development. Thus, the AP State Government has set up a series of Government-run and privately-managed colleges that offer polytechnic courses. The programs have the accreditation of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Armed with the technical certificates, the aspirants can apply for Government jobs. They can go on to pursue degree courses as well. In fact, with the certifications, they can be directly admitted in second year engineering courses after successfully clearing the ESET entrance test.
APJEE Application Form
For appearing for the APJEE entrance examination, the candidates must fulfil the given eligibility norms. If they are eligible, they must download the application form from the official website, http://www.apjee.in/, which is available during the months April to May.
The concerned authorities accept online applications. As part of the application process, the applicants have to register on the site. Thereafter, they can download the Application form, following which they are to fill in the required fields. Besides, there are certain documents that are needed for processing the candidates’ applications. The required documents have to be uploaded during the submission of applications.
Scanned copies of the photograph and signature are to be given as well. Moreover, details such as mobile number and email address are to be shared, to receive notifications regarding the exams.
The aspirants, also, have to pay the applicable Application fee through modes of payment such as credit cards, debit cards or via net banking.
Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: The candidates have to be within the age range of 15-18 years as per the eligibility norms.
Educational Qualification: For the educational qualifications of the aspiring candidates, they should pass their 10th standard examination from Government-recognized Educational Boards. The applications of those applicants who are appearing for their 10th standard exams are considered as well.
Domicile: The candidates have to be residing in the AP state for 3 years, or more, to be eligible.
APJEE Exam Pattern
The APJEE exam is for 2 hours where the candidates have to answer 150 multiple-choice type questions. The medium is English and the questions are on Science and Mathematics subjects. The exam questions are based on the exam syllabus of the CBSE pattern of Class IX and X. The total marks of the exam are 600 where 1 question carries 4 marks. There is a negative marking, whereby, 1 mark is deducted for incorrect answers.
APJEE Admit Card
After submission of application forms, the admit cards or hall tickets of the successful candidates is released. The candidates must carry the admit cards to the examination hall. The examining authorities verify the candidate’s identity via the admit cards. The admit cards contains details such as roll number, and other exam details like date and time, along with the name and address of the examination center. Besides, the applicants are to produce their admit cards during admissions, as well as counseling sessions. Thus, they must keep their respective admit cards until the admission process is complete.
Moreover, the candidates should check if the details on the admit card are correct. If there are discrepancies, they must notify the authorities for the necessary corrections.
The admit cards are downloadable from the official website. First, they have to log in using their username and password. Then, they should click on the admit card download link that is activated after uploading the tickets. Thereafter, the admit cards becomes viewable on the screen. The candidates can, now, download the same and take a printout.
APJEE Merit List
In the month of May or June, the results of the APJEE exam are available online. The APJEE result contains the details of the candidate such as name, roll number, total marks scored out of 600, and merit rank. Further, the counselling schedule and seat allotment details, pertaining to Rounds 1 and 11, are mentioned, as well.
The results of the APJEE exam are on display on the official site. After logging in, the candidates must click on the ‘Download Result’ link, and follow by taking a copy of the exam result.
In some cases, more than one candidate scores the same rank. In such cases, the candidates’ merit position is based on the grade or marks that the candidates score in the qualifying board examination. The candidate who scores higher grades is ranked above the others.
APJEE Counselling
The successful candidates have to attend the counseling sessions that are conducted in offline mode, during the June month. Here, the candidates have to show their original documents for the authorities to verify the same. Also, the applicants have to fill in their choices of college and courses.
The allotment of seats is the subsequent step in the admission process. Going by the candidates’ merit rank and selected courses, they are given admissions. Post allotment of seats, the candidates have to visit the stipulated colleges to complete the rest of the admission procedure which includes payment of fees and other formalities.
