The Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER) conducts the Bharath Engineering Entrance Examination (BEEE) every year. The BEEE exam is held for assessing the eligibility of candidates for admissions into the varied engineering degree (BTech) courses that the BIHER offers.
A deemed to be university, the BIHER was set up during the year 1984. The Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust is the promoter of the BIHER. Previously, the Institute was affiliated to Madras University, and afterward, to Anna University. During September 2006, BIHER came to be known as Bharath University. Then, in November 2017, the Institute was again renamed to the Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research (BIHER).
Besides, the University has four campuses in all, where 3 campuses are in Chennai and 1 campus is in Puducherry.

Qualifying Exam
The candidate has to pass the Class XII exam from a recognized board of India. Also, they should have scored at least 50% aggregate marks in PCM or PCMB subjects.
Age Limit
The upper age limit of candidates is pegged at 25 years, for them to be eligible for the BEEE.
Nationality
Only Indian citizens can apply.
BEEE: Application Process
The exam authorities accept applications for the BEEE in both online and offline mode.
For online applications, they have to first register on the official portal. During registration, they have to fill in the mandatory particulars, which include email ID and registered mobile number.
Following registration, they will receive their login credentials via their email address and phone number. The next step entails signing into the portal for downloading the online application form.
In the application form, they have to provide details about their educational background, among other basic details.
Also, they have to mention the course they are applying to.
As part of the BEEE application, the applicants are also required to upload the compulsory documents in the prescribed format. These include the latest copy of the photograph and specimen signature.
For paying the Application Fee, they can make payment via online and offline methods. For making an online payment, they can pay via card or internet banking.
For offline payments, they can opt to pay in cash or via demand draft. If they are paying via demand draft, they have to send the demand draft to the given address.
Following payment of the application fee, the system generates a unique application number via the Confirmation Page. The aspirants should take a printout of their application for record purposes.
The selected candidates will receive their Admit Card, which they must carry when going for the exam.
At the exam venue, they must show their Admit Card to the examiners for verification purposes.
Thereafter, depending on their performance in the exam, they will be called for counseling rounds.
BIHER: Exam Pattern
The BEEE is held in both online and offline mode. The question paper contains 100 multiple-choice questions, which total to 100 marks.
The paper contains questions on the following subjects.
Physics: (30 questions, 30 marks)
English: (10 questions, 10 marks)
Chemistry: (30 questions, 30 marks)
Maths / Biology (relevant to bio-engineering applicants): (30 questions, 30 marks)
