Gujarat TET Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result

In India’s Gujarat state, the Board of Secondary Education that works under the Government of Gujarat has the responsibility of conducting the state-level Gujarat Teacher Eligibility Test (GTET). The GTET aims to select candidates who are eligible for recruitment at Primary (from Class I to V) and Upper Primary (from Class VI to VIII) levels in Gujarat’s schools. The GTET aspirants can apply via the official website, https://www.jobriya.in.

GTET comprises of two papers including Paper-I and Paper-II. For Primary Level teacher post applications, the candidates have to apply for Paper-I; and for Upper Primary Level teacher post applications, Paper-II applies.

The applicants who qualify for GTET receive the Eligibility Certificate that makes them eligible to apply for teacher positions in schools across Gujarat.

GTET: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility norms for GTET Paper-I and Paper-II are studied in the following details.

For Paper-I

In addition to the applicant passing the Senior Secondary exams with at least 45% marks, they should have passed or must be pursuing the 4th year of the 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education or the 2nd year of the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or the 2nd year of the 2–year Diploma in Education in Special Education.

Or

The candidate has to complete BSc or BA while scoring minimum 50% marks and, also, pass the Bachelor in Education program.

For Paper-II

The applicant has to pass the 2-year DEd/BA/BSc courses with minimum 45% aggregate marks. Also, if appearing for the final year exams of the aforesaid programs, then they can apply. Moreover, they must complete the Bachelor in Education course; if appearing for the course’s final year exams, then they can apply as well.

Or

The candidate should have passed or has to be pursuing the 4th year of the Bachelor in Elementary Education or Bachelor in Special Education program. Also, they should have a BSc/BA degree with minimum score of 50% aggregate marks.

Age Limit

The age limit to apply for Paper-I and Paper-II is minimum 18 years.

GTET: Application Process

The GTET application process is conducted online where the candidates have to browse the official website for submitting their applications. However, firstly, they must read the ‘Notifications’ to know about the application process. The next step is to register on the website for receiving their login credentials. Then, they have to log in to their accounts and follow by downloading the Online Application Form that has to be filled.

For applying, they must upload certain documents (such as signature and passport-sized photograph) as well. Additionally, they have to pay the Application Fee. The final step is to review and, subsequently, submit their applications. More so, they must maintain a print copy of the Confirmation Page for their records.

GTET: Exam Pattern

Paper-I and Paper-II are held over 90 minutes each where the candidates have to answer 150 multiple-choice questions. For each right answer, the aspirant gains one mark; also, for incorrect answers, no marks are deducted.

The five sections of Paper-I carry 30 marks each. And the different sections include Language-I, Language-II, Child Pedagogy, Environmental Sciences, and Mathematics.

The four sections of Paper-II are as follows: Child Development (30 marks), Maths & Science or Social Science and any other subject (60 marks), Language-I (30 marks), and Language-II (30 marks).

GTET: Admit Card

The Admit Cards of the candidates are available on the official website on the dates as notified by the examining authorities. Note that Admit Cards are not sent via post and have to be downloaded.

For downloading their Admit Cards, the applicants must select the ‘Download Admit Card’ tab after which the system prompts for details such as Date of Birth and Registration Number. Upon entering the details correctly, the Admit Cards are displayed on the screen. Now, they must print a copy of their Admit Cards to carry to the exam hall. Here, the examining authorities will permit them to give the exam after checking the Admit Cards that helps to ascertain their identity.

GTET: Answer Key

The Answer Key is made available on the official website after the exam date. The applicant must click on the ‘Download Answer Key’ and enter details like Registration Number, after which the system shows the Answer Key. They can, then, review their performance after downloading the Answer Key.

GTET: Result

The dates on which the exam results are uploaded on the official website is communicated to the candidates. They can view their results online and follow by maintaining a print copy. To check their results, they have to click on the ‘Download GTET Result’ option, following which they must enter few basic details. Thereafter, the system displays the exam results and they can download the same.
