The Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) manages the affairs of technical education in the Indian state of Haryana. The Society admits the eligible candidates on the basis of their marks in the qualifying exam and no state-level entrance exam is conducted. However, the applicants who are looking for enrollment via the lateral entry scheme have to apply for the Haryana DET (L) exam. The HSTES official website is http://www.hstes.org.in/.
During May-June, the online application form for Haryana DET is accessible on the official site. Depending on the applications received and the candidates’ ranks in the Merit List, the examining authorities allot seats in the Polytechnic institutes. More so, there are online counseling rounds that are held as per seat availability.

Haryana Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the various diploma courses are discussed below:
Diploma in Engineering: The candidate has to clear the 10th standard exam from a recognized educational Board while scoring 35% minimum aggregate marks. Also, they should pass in Mathematics and Science subjects.
Diploma in Engineering (Lateral Entry): The applicant should pass the 12th standard exam in vocational stream; or 12th standard examination with the inclusion of subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Maths; or 12th standard exam with NSQF’s level 4. Other than that, the candidates who have completed 2 years of ITI courses post the 10th standard are eligible as well.
Diploma in Pharmacy: The aspirant must clear the 12th standard exam or equivalent. Their minimum aggregate marks should be 35% in the qualifying exam; and the subjects must include Biology or Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
Haryana Polytechnic Application Form
The examining authorities upload the online application form and notify the candidates about the same. Thereafter, the candidates have to visit the official website for accessing the application form. For applying, they must fill the application form with the required details. Besides, they should upload copies of their signature and photograph as per the stipulated format.
Upon submitting their application, the system generates an Application Number that the candidate should note down. They can make changes in their application on visiting the designated centers via the application number, during the process of verification of educational documents. Additionally, they should keep a print copy of the filled application form. Next, they have to pay the application fee that is acceptable in both online and offline mode.
Haryana Polytechnic Exam Pattern
The Haryana DET examination comprises of 100 questions that are objective-type ones. The exam is conducted in online mode, having a duration of 100 minutes. The correct answers give the candidate 1 mark while there is no negative marking for the incorrect ones.
Haryana Polytechnic Exam Syllabus
The exam syllabus conforms to the 10+2 standard of Haryana’s Board of School Education. The questions are based on subjects like General Aptitude, Science, Mathematics, and English.
Haryana Polytechnic Admit Card
The admit cards of the candidates are accessible via the official website. Also, the authorities inform the applicants on the dates that they can download their admit cards. Accordingly, the students should download their admit cards. Moreover, they should carry the admit cards to the exam hall for verification at the exam centers.
Haryana Polytechnic Result
The aspirants who appear for the Haryana DET exam can view their results on the official website after receiving notifications from the authorities.
Further, the authorities prepare the Merit List on the basis of the candidates’ marks in the qualifying exam (for the 1st year diploma course applications).
Haryana Polytechnic Counseling
The counseling rounds are held via online mode. As part of the registration process for counseling, the candidates have to furnish their choices of programs and colleges via the official site. As per seat availability, the counseling sessions are organized.
After seat allotments, the applicant has to report to the respective college as per the given schedule that is mentioned in the provisional seat allotment letter.
The aspiring candidates should have to carry the necessary documents for the authorities to verify their authenticity. Post verification of the documents and payments of fees, the colleges admit the applicants.
