The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) conducts the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam (KIITEE) during April-May every year. Aspiring candidates must satisfy the given eligibility norms to apply to KIITEE. The KIITEE official website is www.kiitee.ac.in.
KIITEE is among the popular Engineering Entrance exams in India, assessing the eligibility of the candidates for the full-time programs that the 23 participating colleges conduct.
Applicants can get regular or lateral entry admissions into the BTech that the participating institutes conduct via KIITEE. The regular BTech courses are of 4 years while candidates can get lateral entry into the 2nd year of the engineering programs.
The KIIT holds a series of engineering courses. These include in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, and Information Technology.
Note:
For lateral entry admission, a separate entrance exam is held whereby the shortlisted candidates are admitted into the 2nd year of the BTech courses.
KIITEE: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
For BTech (Regular)
- Educational Qualification
To be eligible for KIITEE, the aspirant is required to pass the Class 10+2 exam (or any equivalent one), with a minimum score of 60% marks in PCM subjects.
Note:
Eligible candidates also comprise those groups who are appearing for the qualifying exam.
- Age Criteria
The upper age limit to apply for the KIITEE is 21 years.
For BTech (Lateral Entry)
- Educational Qualification
He/she has to obtain minimum 60% marks in the diploma courses in the corresponding engineering branch to which they are seeking admissions to the BTech courses.
- Age Criteria
To apply for lateral entry, the candidates have to be at least 24 years of age.
KIITEE: Syllabus
The KIITEE syllabus covers Class XII subjects including Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
KIITEE: Exam Pattern
For BTech (Regular)
The question paper runs for 3 hours, with 120 objective-type questions in the following subjects.
Physics: 40 questions
Chemistry: 40 questions
Mathematics: 40 questions
For B.Tech. (Lateral Entry)
The question paper has a 3-hour duration, with 120 multiple-choice questions from the below-mentioned subjects.
Mathematics: 20 questions
Basic Electrical Engineering: 20 questions
Engineering Mechanics: 20 questions
Branch Specific: 60 questions
KIITEE: Application Process
To apply for the KIITEE, the aspirant has to browse the official website. The KIITEE authorities accept online applications. To apply online, the candidate has to download the KIITEE online application form from the official website. And they must provide the required information in the application form.
Plus, as part of the application process, they have to upload the necessary documents. These include specimen signature, educational qualifications, and photograph.
Next, the KIITEE authorities upload the Admit Card of the eligible candidates. The applicant should carry the Admit Card to the exam venue on the exam date.
Following the exam, the exam result becomes available on the official website.
After the examiners release the Merit List, they conduct the various counseling rounds. Here, the candidates are allotted seats. Thereafter, they should go to the College where they have secured a seat for completion of the remaining formalities.
