Kerala Polytechnic 2024 Exam: Admission, Dates, Merit List, Eligibility

The authorities do not conduct any state-level exam for admissions, but the candidates’ grades in the qualifying exam are considered. If grades are not available, then the applicant’s marks in the qualifying exam are converted to grades. The admission procedure is called as Kerala Polytechnic Admission.

In Kerala, there are 2 streams of the professional diploma courses: Diploma in Engineering / Technology and Diploma in Computer Application / Commercial Practice / Business Management. Kerala Polytechnic Admission Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Has to be an Indian National

Domicile: Must possess Domicile Certificate of Kerala state / should clear the qualifying exam from recognized Kerala Boards / the applicant’s

parent should have permanent employment in Government organization or Public Sector Undertakings in the state.

Qualifying Exam: Should pass SSLC / THSLC or equivalent, from recognized Boards / Universities.

Qualifying Subjects: In the qualifying exam, the subjects should include English, Science, and Mathematics.

In the case of ICSE / CBSE Board pupils, the authorities will consider the aspirant’s marks in Science for grade calculation.

Kerala Polytechnic Admission Application Form

During May, the authorities make available the online application form on the official website. The first step is the online registration process where the candidate has to enter few personal details such as name, email address, and mobile number.

Post registration, the applicant has to sign into their respective accounts for accessing the application form. Along with the applicants’ details, their choices of colleges and institutes have to be entered in the application form as well. Also, the aspirant has to upload the required documents. Besides, the candidate must take a printout of their application form.

The next step is for the parent of the candidate to sign the print copy of the application form and register the same at the stipulated Government colleges. Further, the application fee has to be paid, following which the candidate gets a registration number.

In June, after receiving all applications, the authorities release the Merit List. On the basis of the applicants’ marks in the qualifying exam, they receive ranks. If the candidate clears the qualifying exam as per the old system, then the marks are converted into grades. Accordingly, the DTE gives grades and prepares the Merit List.

Kerala Polytechnic Seat Allotment

The selected candidates are called for counseling, based on their ranks in the Merit List. There are several rounds of seat allotment that ensue. Also, after every round of seat allotments, the results are displayed on the official website. The candidate has to check their names and allotted institutes. After the allotment of seats, the candidates have to visit the institute as per the given schedule. The applicant’s original documents are verified as part of the admission procedure. They have to pay their course fees, as well. If they fail to do so, their admission is canceled.
