Maharashtra TET Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) is the conducting body of the state-level Maharashtra TET (MAH TET) exam in India’s Maharashtra state. The entrance exam is held to determine the eligibility of teachers from Classes I to VIIII for positions in the government-run schools.

The aspirants who are vying to become Primary Level teachers for Classes I to V have to apply for Paper-I. Also, the candidates who want to become Upper Primary Level teachers for Classes VI to VIII can submit their applications for Paper-II. Moreover, if you want to apply for both papers, make sure to submit individual applications for Paper-I and Paper-II.

Upon successful completion of the MAH TET, the applicants are awarded a TET Eligibility Certificate, having 7-year validity.

MAH TET: Application Process

For applying for Paper-I and Paper-II, the aspiring candidate has to submit their applications via online mode. They have to browse MSCE’s official website, mahatet.in. Here they have to, first, register by clicking on the ‘New Registration’ link. And as part of the registration process, they have to enter their basic details.

Then, upon successful registration, they receive their login details. The next step is to sign into their respective accounts and download the ‘MAH TET Application Form’ and, thereafter, fill in the required particulars.

In addition to filling the Application Form, the candidates have to upload scanned copies of their signature and photograph too, and as per the given format. Thereafter, they should review their application by selecting the ‘Preview’ tab. They can make changes if required.

Moreover, to apply, they have to tender the application fee via the payment modes that are acceptable. They can pay with debit cards or credit cards or through Internet banking or via UPI.
The last step in the application process is to take a print out of their Application Form for later use.

MAH TET: Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate has to be 18 years or above.
  • To apply for Paper-I, the candidates have to pass their Intermediate exams, with a score of at least 60% aggregate marks. Moreover, they should pass or be appearing in the 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education(B.Ed/B.E.I) course or the 2-year Diploma in Special Education course or the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education course.
  • For applying for Paper-II, the applicant has to secure minimum 60% aggregate marks in their graduation exams. Also, they have to pass in the 4-year Bachelor of Education course or the 1-year Diploma in Special Education program or the 2-year Diploma in diploma in Elementary Education course.

MAH TET: Exam Pattern

Both Paper-I and Paper-II of MAH TET contains 150 multiple-choice questions and the total of the question papers is 150 marks each. Also, for each correct answer, the candidate scores 1 mark. And the duration of each paper is 90 minutes.

Paper-I contains five sections, with each section carrying 30 marks. The different sections include Child Studies, Language-I, Environmental Science, Mathematics, and Language-II.

Paper-II has four sections – including Child Development (30 marks), Language-I (30 marks), Maths & Science or Social Studies & Other Subjects (60 marks), and Language-II (30 marks).

MAH TET: Admit Card

The authorities release the candidates’ Admit Cards after reviewing all applications. On their part, the candidates have to download their admit cards from the official website. Upon browsing the website, they must select the ‘Download Admit Card’ link and provide the necessary details (like Application Number of Date of Birth).

Then, the system displays their Admit Cards that have to be carried by them to the exam hall. Note that without your admit card, the authorities will not permit you to sit for the exam. Only after you produce your Admit Card, they can ascertain your identity and will allow to taking the exam.

MAH TET: Exam

On the day of the exam, the candidate must reach the venue well in advance. Also, they must carry their Admit Cards and stationary to the exam hall. Keep in mind that electronic gadgets cannot be taken inside the exam hall. Also, you cannot leave before half time of the exam.

MAH TET: Exam Result

The applicants can check their results on the official website. Only they have to select the ‘Download Exam Result’ link and enter the necessary details, following which the system displays their examination results. Subsequently, they must take print copies of their exam results and produce the same during the document verification process and Interview rounds.

  • The admit cards are released 15 days before the exam date
  • Gather all study material to prepare for the exam
  • Chart out your study plan and set deadlines while adhering to them as well
  • Invest more time on subjects that you are weak in
  • Revise regularly and make sure to cover all topics during revision
