Manipur TET Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result

Towards the northeastern part of India lies the Manipur state. In Manipur, the conducting body of the state-level Manipur Teachers Eligibility Test (Manipur TET) is the Board of Secondary Education Manipur. The Manipur TET is held for recruiting teachers at two levels that include the Primary (from classes I to V) and the Upper Primary (from classes VI to VIII) ones. The Manipur TET aspirants have to apply via the official website that is https://bsem.nic.in/downloads.html.

For recruiting teachers at Primary Levels and Upper Primary Levels, Paper-I and Paper-II are conducted respectively. Keep in mind that qualifying TET does not guarantee recruitment to the candidates. However, they receive the ‘Eligibility Certificate’ that makes them eligible to apply for teacher posts in the government-managed and privately-owned schools across Manipur for 7 years.

The applicants who are vying to teach classes from I to VIII have to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II. The candidates have the option of appearing for Manipur TET to improve their score tally as well.

Manipur TET: Eligibility Criteria

Refer to the following details to know more about the eligibility norms of Manipur TET Paper-I and Paper-II.

For Paper-I

The candidate has to pass Senior Secondary exams or Higher Secondary exams, having a minimum score of 50% aggregate marks. Also, they should pass the 2-year Diploma in Education course or the 4-year Bachelor in Education course. They are eligible even if they are appearing for the final year of the aforesaid programs.

Or

He/she must clear Higher Secondary exams with at least 50% aggregate marks. Even they are required to pass the 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) program. They can apply even if they are pursuing the final year of the above-listed course.

Or

The aspirant has to secure a graduation degree in any discipline and complete the 2-year Diploma in Education. They are considered eligible to apply if they are appearing for the 2nd year of the above-mentioned course too.

For Paper-II

The applicant should secure a BA/BSc/BCom degree and pass the 2-year Diploma in Education course or must be appearing for the final year of the aforesaid course.

Or

He/she should have a BSc/BA degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks and complete or has to be pursuing the 1-year Bachelor in Education program or the 1-year Bachelor in Education (Special Education) program.

Or

The aspirant must pass Senior Secondary exams or Higher Secondary exam with at least 50% marks. More so, they are required to pass the 4-year Bachelor in Education course or the 4-year BAEd/BScED or BA/BScEd courses. The candidates who are appearing for the 4th year of the above-mentioned courses are invited to apply as well.

Manipur TET: Application Process

The Manipur TET Application process is as follows:

  • Visit the official website and read the given instructions after selecting the ‘Notifications’ tab.
  • Proceed by registering on the site and sharing details (such as valid email address and phone number), following which the login credentials are received.
  • Log in to your account with login details and download the Online Application Form.
  • Fill in the required fields in the application form.
  • Upload scanned copies of signature and photograph.
  • Go on to pay the application fee through payment modes such as Debit Card / Credit Card / Net banking.
  • Review application and if everything is in order, select the ‘Submit’ tab to submit your application.
  • After the system displays the ‘Confirmation Page’ take a print out for record purposes.

Manipur TET: Admit Card

The applicants are required to show their Admit Cards to the examiners at the exam hall when appearing for the exam. By doing so, the authorities can ascertain their identity. They can download their Admit Cards via the official website.

The process of downloading Admit Cards is studied below.

  • Browse the official website and click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ option.
  • Enter details such as Registration Number and Date of Birth – among others.
  • Upon the system displaying the Admit Card, check if details on the Admit Card (like exam date, candidate’s name & roll number, and exam venue) are correct. If not, contact the authorities immediately and ensure the corrections are made.
  • Maintain a print copy of Admit Card.

Manipur TET: Exam Pattern

Both the Manipur TET Paper-I and Paper-II contain a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. Also, the time given for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The MCQs have four options where the candidates can gain 1 mark upon selecting the right option. However, for selecting incorrect options, they do not lose marks.

Paper-I has five sections:

  • Child Pedagogy: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Mathematics: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language-I: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language-II: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Environmental Sciences: 30 questions, 30 marks

Paper-II contains four sections:

  • Child Studies: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language-I: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language-II: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Maths & Science or Social Science and any other subject: 60 questions, 60 marks

Manipur TET: Exam Result and Merit List

The Manipur TET authorities post the exam results on the official website. Also, after the exam results are made available on the site, the candidates receive notification about the same. On their part, the applicants have to browse the website and follow by entering a few basic details such as registration number and password.

The exam results can be seen on the screen after entering the required details. And the candidates must, then, take a print out of their respective results to maintain a copy.
