Mizoram TET Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result

In India’s Mizoram state, the responsibility of conducting the Mizoram Teacher Eligibility Test (Mizoram TET) lies with the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE). The candidates who aspire for teacher positions in Mizoram’s schools at Primary (ranging from classes 1st to 5th) and Upper Primary (ranging from classes VI to VIII) Levels can apply to Mizoram TET. Mizoram TET incorporates two papers that include Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I applies to aspirants vying for Primary Level teacher positions; and Paper-II, for Upper Primary Level teacher positions. Any candidate who wants to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II is required to submit separate applications for both papers to become eligible to teach classes from I to VIII.

Note that qualifying Mizoram TET does not place a guarantee of a job, but is considered mandatory for applying to teacher positions in Mizoram’s various schools.

Upon clearing Mizoram TET, the candidates receive the ‘Eligibility Certificate’ that has 7-year validity. Armed with the certificate, they become eligible to apply for teacher posts across Mizoram’s schools.

Mizoram TET: Eligibility Criteria

For Paper 1 (Primary Level)

He/she has to score minimum 45% marks in the 12th standard exams and complete the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education

Or

He/she should score at least 50% aggregate marks in the 12th standard and complete the 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education course or the 2-year Diploma program in Education (Special Education)

For Paper 2 (Upper Primary Level)

He/she must score at least 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 standard exams and secure a 4-year degree in BA Ed/BScEd

Or

He/she has to secure a BCom/BSc/BA graduation degree while scoring minimum 50% aggregate marks and must have passed/ pursuing the BEd course or the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education or the 1-year BEd (Special Education) course or BAEd/BScEd programs.

Mizoram TET: Admit Cards

After the deadline for receiving applications expires, the authorities release the Admit Cards of the eligible candidates on the official website. As per the dates prescribed by the authorities, the candidates can check their Admit Cards online. For the same, they have to visit the official website and click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ tab. The system, then, prompts for some basic details and after entering the required information, the candidate can view and download their Admit Cards.

Admit Cards are mandatory documents that have to be shown to the examining authorities when appearing for the exam. The candidate’s identity is ascertained with the help of Admit Cards.

Mizoram TET: Exam Pattern

Mizoram TET’s Paper-I and Paper-II is held in offline mode. Both Paper-I and Paper-II run for 90 minutes where the candidates have 150 objective-type questions to answer. Each question has various options and upon selecting the right option, the candidates get 1 mark. Also, for incorrect answers, the candidate’s scores are not deducted.

If an applicant applies for both Paper-I and Paper-II, then he has to appear for both papers that are conducted over 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Paper-I and Paper-II have different sections. In Mizoram TET Paper-I, the five sections include Environmental Studies (30 marks), Language-I, (30 marks), Language-II (30 marks), Mathematics (30 marks), and Child Sciences (30 marks).

The four sections of Mizoram TET Paper-II are Child Development for 30 marks, Language-I & Language-II for 30 marks each and Maths & Science for 60 marks (for Maths & Science Teachers) or Social Sciences for 60 marks (for Social Science teachers).

Mizoram TET: Selection Procedure

To qualify for Mizoram TET, the aspirants must score the minimum cutoff marks. If applying via the General category, then the applicant has to score 60% marks to qualify. The reserved categories are given relaxation of marks as per the MBSE guidelines.

Mizoram TET: Answer Key

To help the candidates evaluate their performance in the exam and calculate their scores, the exam authorities release the Answer Key on the official website as well. To view the Answer Key, on the site, the candidates must select the ‘Download Answer Key’ option. Thereafter, they must enter the required details, following which they are able to download the Answer Key.

Mizoram TET: Exam Result

The exam results of the Mizoram TET aspirants are posted on the official website after the authorities declare the same. To view their exam results, the applicants have to only search for the ‘Download Exam Result’ option and, then, click on the same. Now, the system prompts for certain details and after they input the information, they are able to access and download their results. More so, they must maintain a print copy of their exam results for reference purposes.
