The Professional Examination Board (PEB) is the appointed body for managing the state-level Madhya Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test (MP TET). The objective of conducting MP TET is to determine whether the aspiring candidates are eligible for Middle School (Classes I to V) and High School (Classes Vi to VIII) teacher positions at various public schools across India’s Madhya Pradesh state.

MP TET has two papers that include Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is conducted for recruiting teachers at Middle School levels; and Paper-II, for teachers at High School levels. Also, if the candidate wants to be considered for teacher positions from Classes I to VIII, then they can apply separately for Paper-I and Paper-II.

Note that the eligibility norms for Paper-I and Paper-II vary, thus the applicant should apply only if they satisfy the given criteria, otherwise their applications will be rejected.

MP TET: Eligibility Criteria

For both Paper-I and Paper-II, the candidate has to be an Indian citizen to apply. More so, they should be between the ages of 18-35 years.

The eligibility criteria to apply for Paper-I require the candidates to pass their Senior Secondary exams while scoring at least 50% aggregate marks. Moreover, they have to secure a Degree or Diploma from recognized educational boards.

For Paper-II, the candidate has to complete their graduation from a recognized board, with a minimum score of 50% marks. Additionally, they should hold a Bachelor in Education degree from recognized universities.

MP TET: Application Process

The MP TET examining authorities accept only online applications via the official website that is http://peb.mp.gov.in/. Upon visiting the site, the first step for applying is to register. For the same, the candidate must click on the ‘New Registration Link’, following which the system displays the Registration Form. Now, they must fill the details in the form, following which they will receive their login credentials.

Using their login details, they can sign in to their accounts and download the ‘MP TET Application Form’. Then, they must input the required details in the form. Besides, they have to upload certain documents (including scanned copies of their recent photograph and signature) in the prescribed format.

Further, the candidates have to pay the application fee. They can make payment via cards or net banking.

The final step entails the candidate reviewing their application, after which they can click on the ‘Submit’ button. They must keep a print copy of their applications as well.

MP TET: Exam Pattern

Paper-I and Paper-II last for 90 minutes each. Both papers contain 150 multiple-choice questions each. The questions carry 1 mark each if answered correctly and no negative marks are deducted for incorrect answers. The question papers total to 150 marks each.

Paper-I contains five parts: Child Studies (30 marks), Maths (30 marks), Language-I (30 marks), Environmental Sciences (30 marks), and Language-II (30 marks).

Paper-II has four parts: Child Development (30 marks), Mathematics & Science or Social Science and other subjects (60 marks), Language-I (30 marks), and Language-II (30 marks).

MP TET: Admit Card

The MP TET applicants have to download their respective Admit Cards from the official website. Only they must click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ on the site, following which the system prompts them to enter some basic details. After entering the required information correctly, the Admit Cards are downloadable.

Subsequently, they should take a printout of their Admit Cards to carry to the examination hall. The authorities will check the candidate’s Admit Cards to confirm their identity and only then will allow them to take the exam.

The Admit Card contains exam details such as date, venue, and applicant’s details. If the details are not correct, the candidate should inform the authorities who will make the necessary corrections.

MP TET: Merit Result and Exam Result

For viewing their results online, the candidate has to browse the official website. Here, they must select the ‘Download Result’ tab and provide their registration number and other basic details. Then, the system shows the exam results for the applicants to download and print copies.

Also, the names of the selected candidates are stated in the Merit List and they are called for Counseling Rounds by the respective institutions.

Note that the MP TET Eligibility Certificate is sent via post to the candidates and is valid for 7 years.
