The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) is recognized as an Autonomous Scientific Society. The NIELIT Society is a Government of India undertaking, operating under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MoE&IT). Previously, the NIELIT was functioning under the name Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Classes (DOEACC).
The NIELIT was started with the objective of carrying out Human Resource Development and other related activities that come under the ambit of Information, Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT). More so, the Institution lays down guidelines for varied IT courses and is hailed as India’s premier institution for Certification and Examination, of IECT.
Under IECT, NIELIT engages in Formal and Non-Formal education. Additionally, the Society conducts a range of industry-based training programs. NIELIT has a strong network across India, with a presence in over 700 centres across the country.
Spanning two decades, the NIELIT has gained expertise in IT training and offers a range of IT courses. The courses that NIELIT conducts range from ‘O’ Level (Foundation) to ‘A’ Level (Advanced Diploma) to ‘B’ level (equivalent to MCA) to ‘C’ level (M-Tech equivalent). Also, the Society has IT Literacy programs – including the Basic Computer Course (BCC) and Course on Computer Concepts (CCC).
Besides, the Society holds an array of short-term and long-term courses that are grouped under the non-formal sector.
The aspirants who wish to apply for the NIELIT programs have to submit online applications via the official website, http://www.nielit.gov.in/. Know that the different courses that the Society offers vary in eligibility norms. Hence, make sure to study the eligibility criteria of the courses and follow by applying only if eligible.
As part of the application process for the NIELIT courses, the candidates have to access the Online Registration Application Form and furnish the required info in the different fields. Further, they have to scan the requisite documents and upload the scanned copies on the site. They have to tender the Registration/Application fee as well. Then, after registration, they receive their login credentials to sign in to their respective accounts. The next step is to create their profile after signing in. Subsequently, they should review their profile and click on the ‘Lock Profile’ option.
Note that the latest notifications of the NIELIT programs are posted on the official website. The candidates should visit the site regularly to read the notifications. Also, before the exam dates, the authorities release the Admit Cards of the candidates, who have to download their respective ones after providing the mandatory details.
Furthermore, to apply for the course exams, the applicants have to fill out the exam form that is available on the official website and within the stipulated deadlines. Additionally, after they successfully clear the exam, they receive e-certificates that are downloadable from the official website.
