by The managing body that oversees the admissions to the Technical programs in India’s Odisha state is the Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTEE). In Odisha, there is no separate entrance examination that is held. Instead, the candidate’s marks in the qualifying exam are taken into consideration for admissions of the aspirants to the Polytechnic Colleges.
The diploma professional courses are for 3-4 years, and the aspiring candidates can choose from engineering and non-engineering disciplines. The Odisha DTEE’s official website is https://dtetodisha.gov.in/en/.
To apply to the technical courses, the candidates have to fill and submit the online application form. There is no option of submitting applications offline.
Odisha Polytechnic Application Form
In February, the application forms become available on the official site. First, the applicants have to register on the site, following which the application form is viewable on the screen. Then, the candidate has to fill in the required fields. Besides, they have to upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format. Thereafter, the Application Number is generated. Also, they must keep a copy of the filled application form.
As part of the application process, the candidates must pay the application fee via online payment, too.
Odisha Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the varied courses are studied in the following details.
Nationality: Must be an Indian National
1st Semester Diploma in Engineering
Clear 10th or 12th standard exam or equivalent, from recognized educational boards.
Score minimum 35% aggregate marks in subjects such as Maths, English, and Science
Score 30% marks in each subject
Above 14 years of age (apart from drilling and mining)
Lateral Entry for 3rd Semester Diploma in Engineering
Pass 12th standard exam or equivalent in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) stream from Odisha’s Council of Higher Secondary Education.
Clear Secondary exam with minimum 35% marks from Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
Minimum age limit for the program is 14 years and there is no specified upper age limit.
1st Semester Diploma in Non-Engineering
Clear 10th or 12th standard examination, or equivalent, in any stream and from the Council of Higher Secondary Education of Odisha. Also, the candidate’s minimum aggregate score should be 35% in the qualifying exam. In each subject, they must score a minimum of 30%, as well.
For admission in the Diploma on Pharmacy course, the applicant should pass a higher secondary exam having a minimum of 35% marks in PCM/PCB. For HM & CT/MOM, the upper age limit is 16 years; and for Beauty Culture, 14 years.
In the case of the Beauty Culture course, the educational qualifications are the same as the 1st Year semester Engineering course.
Odisha Polytechnic Result and Merit List
In the months of May or June, the examining authorities upload the Merit List and exam results on the official website. On the basis of their marks in the qualifying examination, the candidates are ranked. The applicants can check the official website for their examination results and ranks. Only after entering a few basic details, they are able to download their results.
Odisha Polytechnic Counseling
After releasing the Merit List, the shortlisted candidates are to attend counseling sessions in July. During the counseling rounds, the examining authorities routinely verify the originality of the educational qualification documents of the candidates. More so, the seats in the respective colleges are allotted to the applicants during counseling.
The final step entails the candidates visiting the college where have admission to complete the rest of the application formalities.
