Sikkim Polytechnic 2024 Exam: Admission, Dates, Merit List, Eligibility

In India’s Sikkim state, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has the responsibility of imparting technical education. There is no separate entrance test that is conducted for admitting the candidates to the Polytechnic courses. However, they are offered admissions on the basis of their scores in the qualifying examination.

The admission process is referred to as the Sikkim Polytechnic Admission 2019. The applicants can visit the official website of the respective university for applying. Through the Sikkim Polytechnic admissions, the aspirants can get admissions in the diploma courses. There are several government-managed and privately-owned Polytechnic colleges that conduct the diploma programs.

Sikkim Polytechnic Application Form

For applying to the diploma courses, the aspirants must visit the official site of the university. In June, the online application forms are available. Then, they must register by filling in the required fields. Upon registering they are given login credentials on the given email addresses. Also, they must save the emails for later use.

Using the login credentials, they must log into their accounts and download the application form. Subsequently, they should fill in their particulars in the given fields. Along with the application form, they have to upload scanned images of their signature and photograph in the prescribed format, as well. They must pay the application fee via online payment modes, too. More importantly, the applicants are to submit their applications before the mentioned deadline.

Sikkim Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria

Only the applications of the eligible candidates are considered. For this reason, the aspirants must read the eligibility criteria for the courses thoroughly. For 1st Year Diploma Courses

Qualifying Exam: Clear SSC examination or equivalent from recognized Board/University.

Qualifying Marks: Secure 35% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam

Compulsory Subjects: Their subjects in the SSC exams should include Physical Exam, Mathematics, and English.

For 2nd Year Diploma Courses

The applicants have to complete their SSC education from recognized boards. Moreover, after completing SSC, they should complete their HSC education. Additionally, their subjects have to include Mathematics or Biology, Physics, English, and Chemistry.

Sikkim Polytechnic Merit List

Post the expiry of the deadline of the submission of applications, the examining authorities declare the Merit List. The candidates’ marks in the qualifying exam are the basis for preparing the Merit List. The candidates get ranks; and depending on their ranks, they are called for counseling.

Sikkim Polytechnic Counseling

As part of the counseling rounds, there is allotment of seats and verification of documents. Following the allotment of seats, the candidates have to visit the respective college where they are admitted. The final step is to complete the rest of the admission formalities, along with payment of course fees.
