Sikkim TET Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result

Sikkim is traced to the northeastern part of India. And the Sikkim Human Resource Development Department is responsible for organizing the state-level Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test in the Indian state of Sikkim. With the aim to recruit teachers at Primary Levels (from classes 1st to 5th) and Upper Primary Levels (classes 6th to 8th), the Sikkim TET is conducted. As part of the Sikkim TET application process, the aspirants must apply via the official website, http://sikkimhrdd.org/.

Sikkim TET consists of papers at two levels that are Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is for those aspiring candidates who want to teach Primary Level classes while Paper-II is conducted for aspirants who are vying to teach the Upper Primary Level classes.

The option of appearing for both papers can be availed by applicants who want to teach classes from 1st to 8th. Moreover, the candidates can reapply for the papers if they want to improve their scores.
The aspirants who qualify Sikkim TET receive the ‘Eligibility Certificate’. For qualifying the exam, they have to score minimum 60% if appearing via the general category. The reserved sections are given relaxation of marks as per the National Council of Teacher Education guidelines.

Know that qualifying Sikkim TET does not confer rights for Employment, only the candidates become eligible to apply for teacher positions in schools (both public and private ones) across Sikkim.

Sikkim TET: Eligibility Criteria

For Paper-I

The applicant is required to clear the 12th standard exams, having scored at least 50% aggregate marks. Moreover, they have to complete the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or the 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) or the 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education. The candidates who are pursuing the final years of the above-mentioned programs can apply as well.

For Paper-II

The aspirant has to earn a BSc/BA/BCom degree and should pass or be appearing for the 2nd year of the Diploma in Elementary Education.

Or

He/she must secure a BCom/BSc/BA degree with minimum 45% aggregate marks. Additionally, they have to pass or be appearing for the final year of courses such as the Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Education (Special Education) ones.

Or

The aspirant must pass 12th standard exams with at least 50% aggregate marks. Also, they have to pass or be pursuing the 4th year of the 4-year BAEd / BScEd programs.

Sikkim TET: Application Process

The Sikkim TET authorities release the Sikkim TET Application Form on the official website. For applying, the candidates have to browse the official website for downloading the form. Firstly, they must read all the given instructions and, then, register on the site by sharing some basic details such as email address and phone number. Giving these details is important for the candidate to receive their login credentials and notifications.

The next step is to sign in to their respective accounts with the login details that they receive on their email address. Thereafter, they should download the Application Form and fill in the required particulars. In addition to filling the form, they are required to submit scanned copies of their recent photograph and specimen signature as well.

More so, they have to pay the Application fee by depositing the required sum in the specified bank and bank account. After paying the fee, they must review their applications and make any required changes. Subsequently, they have to submit their applications by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. Also, they should maintain a hard copy of the ‘Confirmation Page’ that appears on the screen after submitting the application.

Sikkim TET: Admit Card

The Sikkim TET authorities process all applications after the expiry of the deadline. The next step is to issue Admit Cards to the eligible candidates. The applicants must browse the official website for accessing their Admit Cards. They must click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ option for downloading their respective Admit Cards. Also, they have to maintain a hard copy to carry to the exam hall.

At the exam venue, the exam authorities check the Admit Cards prior to granting permission to the candidates to appear for the exam. Admit Cards hold significance because they help to confirm the applicant’s identity.

Admit Cards contain details like Applicant’s Name, Roll Number and Exam Date, Exam Venue. After receiving their Admit Cards, the aspirants must check if the details are correct. If they find any discrepancies, they have to inform the authorities for the necessary corrections.

Sikkim TET: Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of Sikkim TET Paper-I and Paper-II is as follows:

The questions are Multiple Choice type ones, with each question having four options.

The total number of marks of the question paper is 150 marks.

Upon selecting the right option, the candidates score 1 mark.

No negative marking system is followed for choosing incorrect options.

The exam has a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Paper-I

Sikkim TET Paper-I contains five sections as studied below.

  • Child Development: 30 questions carrying 30 marks
  • Environmental Studies: 30 questions carrying 30 marks

  • Mathematics: 30 questions carrying 30 marks

Paper-II

Sikkim TET Paper-II has four sections, as studied below.

Sikkim TET: Exam Result

For accessing their Sikkim TET Exam Result, the candidates must visit the official website and follow by clicking on the ‘Download Exam Result’ option. The subsequent step is to enter details such as Roll Number and Date of Birth. Upon entering the details correctly, the system displays the results and they must keep a hard copy for their records.
