The SRM Institute of Science & Technology (SRMIST) conducts the university-level Joint Engineering Entrance Exam every year. The SRM JEE serves as a common entrance test for all the participating universities and institutes that come under the SRM Group.
The aspirants who want to gain admissions in the various engineering courses that the participating institutes offer are invited to apply for SRM JEE. However, they have to meet the stipulated eligibility criteria to be eligible to apply.
SRM JEE: Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification
- For B. Tech Courses
To apply for any of the engineering programs, the applicant has to pass the 10+2 examinations (or equivalent exams), with a score of at least 70% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
If the candidate is applying for courses in biotechnology or bioprocess engineering or biomedical & instrumentation engineering or bioinformatics or bioprocess engineering, then they are required to get a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
- For B.Arch Courses
The aspirants must clear the Class 12 exams with a minimum score of 70%, having Maths and English as their subjects. More so, they have to obtain at least 40% in the Aptitude Test in Architecture, which SRM conducts under SRMEEE to be eligible.
- Nationality
To be eligible to apply for SRM JEE, the candidate has to be an Indian National. Plus, they should have studied in schools that are based in India in the previous two years.
SRM JEE: Exam Pattern
The SRM JEE contains the following sections. Also, the exam is conducted online, with a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The SRM JEE has a total number of 125 questions, with a total score of 125 marks.

Chemistry: (35 questions, 35 marks)
- Part III
Maths / Biology: (40 questions, 40 marks)
Aptitude: (10 questions, 10 marks)
- Part IV
English: (5 questions, 5 marks)
Note
- No negative marks for incorrect answers
- The question paper will be available only in the English language
- Questions are multiple-choice ones, with each question having 4 alternatives

The SRM JEE is designed as per the syllabus of the Higher Secondary Exam.

During the months April-May, the SRM University conducts the SRM JEE.
SRM JEE: How to apply?
As part of the SRM JEE application process, the applicants should visit the official website, www.srmist.edu.in, and submit their online applications. Alternatively, they can obtain application forms from the stipulated post offices to apply offline. Both online and offline applications are accepted by the authorities.
Also, they have to make payment of the Exam Fee, as applicable. The Institute accepts payment of the exam fee via debit card or credit card or internet banking.
Importantly, the aspiring candidates have to apply before the given deadline, for the authorities will not entertain any applications thereafter.
SRM JEE: Admit Card
The admit cards of the shortlisted candidates is uploaded on the official website. They have to log in to their respective accounts and download a copy to carry to the exam hall. The Admit Card helps to determine the identity of the candidate and thus is an important document.
SRM JEE: Result
After the exam date, the SRM authorities prepare the list of candidates who have qualified. The SRM JEE results will be available on the official website on the given date. The eligible candidates are then invited for the counseling rounds.
The candidates can check if they appear in the Merit List and the counseling dates by signing into their accounts.
SRM JEE: Counseling Rounds
The candidates who are shortlisted after qualifying for the SRM JEE have to appear for the following two counseling rounds. They will be informed about the dates on which the counseling rounds will be held.
During the counseling rounds, they are allotted seats in the different courses. The examiners allot seats to the candidates on the basis of their choices, seat availability, and merit.
The selected candidates can also download their Score Card after logging into the official website.
SRM JEE: Application Process
The selected candidates have to visit the institute where they are allotted seats to complete the rest of the admission formalities.
SRM JEE: Documents Required
In addition to their respective admit card, the candidates are also required to carry a valid Photo Identification proof. Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Passport, and PAN Card are valid identity proofs.
