UPTET Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card and Exam Result

UPTET New Exam Result Declared : 08 April 2022

The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts the state-level Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test (UPTET) exam. The UPTET is held to recruit teachers in UP’s different schools at both Primary Level (Classes I to V) and Upper Primary Levels (Classes VI to VIII).

The UPTET consists of 2 papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I applies for the candidates who are applying for the Primary Level teacher positions. And the aspirants who are applying for the Upper Primary Level teacher positions have to apply for Paper-II.

The papers are for 1.5 hours each. Also, both papers contain 150 questions and each question carries 1 mark.

Further, the eligibility criteria for both papers varies, thus the aspirants should read the norms carefully. Then, only if they are eligible, they should forward their applications.

UPTET: Eligibility Criteria

As mentioned earlier, the eligibility norms of Paper-I and Paper-II vary and are discussed in the following details.

For Paper-I
Hold a Bachelor’s degree and score at least 50% marks from an educational board that the University Grants Commission recognizes.
Or
Possess a Bachelor’s degree along with a 2-year Diploma from the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) or NCTE
Or
Have a Bachelor’s degree and receive a 2-year Nursery Teacher Training or any other equivalent qualification
Or
Secure a Bachelor’s degree and the Special BTC training qualification
Or
Earn a Bachelor’s degree and get the 2-year BCT Urdu Special Training in UP
For Urdu Teachers, the requisites are a Bachelor’s degree and a Teaching Diploma from Aligarh Muslim University, or the Moallim-E-Urdu degree, before the date 11-08-1997.
For Paper-II
Must score 50% marks in the Intermediate exams
Or
Should have a Graduation degree and pass or must be studying in the 2nd year of BTC in an NCTE-affiliated institute
Or
Secure a Graduation or Post-Graduation degree with minimum 50% marks and pass or must be presently in the 2nd year of Bed in an NCTE-recognized institute
Or
Complete their graduation or post-graduation studies having at least 50% marks and pass or should currently be in the 2nd year of LT in an NCTE-affiliated institute

Pass their graduation or post-graduation courses with 50% marks or above and pass or be currently enrolled in the 2nd year BEd (specialization) in an RCI-affiliated institute

Score 50% marks in intermediate exams and should currently be enrolled in the final year of the BEd program
Or
Should pass or currently be studying in the final year of BScEd/ BElED

Age Limit

For both UPTET Paper-I and UPTET Paper-II, the candidate has to be between the ages of 18-35 years to be eligible to apply. However, for the reserved categories, they can avail 5% relaxation in age norms, as specified in the Government regulations.

UPTET: Application Process

To apply for UPTET, the applicants have to make online applications on the UPBEB’s official website, upbasiceduboard.gov.in. Upon visiting the site, the candidates should download the UPTET Application Form as part of the registration process. Then, to register for the test, they must fill in their personal details in the form and the UP district from where they want to appear for the exam.

Following the registration process, they have to pay the application fees. Payment via both modes (online and offline) are acceptable.

After paying the application fee, the next step is to upload the mandatory documents via online mode. Among their documents, they should upload their mark sheet of the intermediate exam, recent photograph, and eligibility proof.

After paying the UPETE fees, the candidate has to fill the TET Online Form. Here, they have to mention their date of birth, registration number, and other required details. Thereafter, they should submit the form.

Upon final submission of the form, the applicant will receive a registration number and password. Then, they should sign in to their accounts using their login credentials. Hereafter, their application form is displayed on the screen and should be printed for future reference.

Note that if the applicant wants to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II, then they have to make separate applications for each of the papers.

UPTET: Admit Card

When giving the UPTET, the candidate should carry his admit card to the exam hall. Note that the admit cards are not sent via Post and have to be downloaded from the official website.

On the site, they must select the ‘UPTET Admit Card’ tab, following which they should furnish the required details such as date of birth and UPTET Registration Number. After filling in the mandatory details, the admit card is displayed on the screen. The aspirant should check all the details and take a printout of their respective admit card.

In case of any discrepancy, the applicant should inform the authorities for rectifying the same.

The admit card or hall ticket has to be carried to the exam hall because the authorities have to ascertain the candidate’s identity.

UPTET: Exam Pattern

As mentioned earlier, Paper-I applies for candidates who are applying for teacher positions for Classes I to V. And Paper-II is applicable for those candidates who are aspiring for teacher positions for Classes Vi to VIII.

Also, the UPTET is held in offline mode. Both papers have 150 questions that carry 1 mark each. Negative marks are not given for incorrect answers. The questions are multiple-choice ones where each question has four options.

Paper-I has five sections including Child Development & Methodology & Pedagogy, Language-I (Hindi), Language-II (Sanskrit, Urdu or English), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Each of the five sections in Paper-I carries 30 questions.

Paper-II contains four sections that include Child Development, Learning & Pedagogy (compulsory and 30 marks), Language-I (in Hindi and carries 30 marks), Language-II (in Urdu or English or Sanskrit and carries 30 marks), and Maths & Science or Social Science (60 marks).

UPTET: Syllabus

For the section on Child Development in both Paper-I and Paper-II, the subject syllabus covers child development and learning.

To prepare for the Language sections, the candidate has to focus on comprehension, passage writing, and language development.

For preparing for the Maths section, the applicant must learn the fundamentals of Mathematics.

Under Environmental Studies, the candidates must study about food and nutrition.

For Social Studies, the emphasis has to be on Economics, History, Geography, and static General Knowledge.

UPTET: Exam Result

To view their respective results after the authorities release the exam results, the candidate has to browse the official website. Here, they must click on the ‘UPTET Result’ link. Then, the system prompts for the UPTET Roll Number. Upon entering their respective Roll Number, the applicant can view their results and subsequently, they must take a print out of the same.

UPTET: Qualifying Marks

To qualify for the UPTET Recruitments, the candidates who are applying via the general category have to score 60% or 90 marks out of the total 150 marks. The candidates who are applying via the reserved category have to score 55% or 82 marks out of the total 150 marks.

The qualified candidates are bestowed with the UPTET Eligibility Certificate.

UPTET: Eligibility Certificate

The UPTET Eligibility Certificate has 5-year validity. The candidates can collect their respective Eligibility Certificate after they provide a copy of their Identity Card and UPTET Hall ticket.

The qualified candidates can, then, apply for teacher positions in UP schools upon submitting their eligibility certificate.

Besides, if they require a second copy of their Eligibility Certificate, they can produce the required documents to the authorities for the same.
