by The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are counted among one of India’s seven territories and comprise a group of islands amid the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. The Department of Labour, Employment & Training (DLET) comes under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration is the appointed body for managing the day-to-day affairs of the technical training centres that include the government-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the privately-funded Industrial Training Centers (ITCs).
The ITIs and ITCs across the Indian states are affiliated to the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) that is the advisory body for all the state governments for supervision of the vocational trade courses. The State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) of the respective states is responsible for the implementation of the NCVT’s policies.
To increase the availability of skilled labour for facilitating the development of the states, the respective state governments take measures to update the course curriculum, regularly, for conducting industry-oriented courses. Also, the students are given skill training that equips them to work in the chosen trades and also, to contribute to the overall progress of the country.
