In India, Dadra & Nagar Haveli is grouped as one of the country’s seven territories. Towards the Western belt of India, the 2 districts of Dadra & Nagar Haveli are traceable. For the coordination of technical education in the union territory, the Union Territory Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli of the Union Government of India has been appointed.

The National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) issues the guidelines at the national level; and in turn, at the state level, the State Council of Vocational Training has to implement the NCVT’s policies.

For the overall development of the country, skilled resources are needed. There is a shortage of skilled labour in India and for this reason, vocational training centres – such as the government-funded Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and privately-managed Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) – have been instituted.

Besides, the country’s youngsters are interested in gaining technical know-how; and they can avail the option of enrolling in the NCVT or SCVT trade courses. After completing the NCVT or SCVT trade courses, they are conferred with the National Trade Certificates or State Level Trade Certificates respectively. Then, they can seek employment in jobs at the national or state level, accordingly.
