The governing body that is responsible for conducting the admission process of the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the Indian state of Pondicherry is the Government Industrial Training Institute for Women. The candidates have to clear the entrance test to gain admission to the allotted ITI colleges.
In Pondicherry, the applicants can avail of ITI courses in trades such as plumber, turner, wireman, welder, machinist, fitter, electrician – amongst others.
The varied ITI courses have different eligibility criteria. Thus, the candidates have to study the eligibility norms before applying, to avoid cancellation of their admission. The ITI courses require the aspirants to have cleared their 10th or 12th standard examination to be eligible. Also, they must be over 14 years of age.

Also, they have to upload the required documents and pay the application fee. After doing the needful, they should submit their applications. Additionally, they must keep a copy of the filled online application form to have a record.
After the last date for receiving applications, the ITI authorities will release the merit list. The candidates who appear in the merit list can take the entrance exam. However, they must download their admit cards from the official website and carry to the exam hall for the examining authorities to verify their identity. The details of the entrance exam will be posted on the official website.
Post the entrance test, subsequently, the exam results will be declared and are, also, posted on the official website. The candidates who have cleared the exam are invited to counselling sessions.
It is mandatory for the applicants to attend the counselling sessions where their documents are verified and also, the seats are allocated according to the availability in the allotted ITI colleges. The candidates can, then, visit the respective ITI centers for completion of the rest of the admission formalities.
