Maharashtra TET 2019 is scheduled for January 19
The Maharashtra State Council of Examination will convene the Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test on January 19, 2020. In India, the TET is a mandatory requirement for securing teacher positions from Class I to VIII. Maharashtra TET qualifies candidates to teach in government schools across the Indian state of Maharashtra.
Both Central and State Governments conduct TET for recruiting teachers for government schools. Some states in India hold their own TET.
TET composes of two papers that include Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I qualifies candidates to teach from Classes I to V. And Paper-II is held for recruiting teachers for Classes VI to VIII.
The eligibility criteria for Paper-I and Paper-II vary. To be eligible for Paper-I, the candidate has to complete a Diploma in Education. For Paper-II, the candidate has to secure a Bachelor of Education degree. However, the applicant has to secure at least 60% marks to be eligible for TET.
On the exam date, the applicant has to reach the exam hall 20 minutes before the exam time. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to sit for the test.
After candidates qualify TET, they receive the TET certificate that is valid for 7 years. Then, they are eligible to apply for teacher posts in government schools for as long as the certificate is valid.
