Barkatullaah University is a State University which was originally called Bhopal University. Established in 1970 and renamed as Barkatullaah University in 1988, this University is named after the great freedom fighter Prof. Barkatullah of Madhya Pradesh. The main campus of Barkatullaah University is situated in Bhopal and is funded by the State Government. This residential cum affiliating University provides affiliation to the 64 government colleges and 159 private colleges of Bhopal and also seven neighbouring districts namely: Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul, Hoshangabad, Harda and Rajgarh.
