by The private, self-financing, unitary Birla Global University (BGU) was instituted in the year 2013 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. Formerly, the center was named as Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) and was established by the Birla Academy of Art & Culture (BAAC) that is the education-based wing of the B.K. Birla Group of Companies. Also, the center was accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and was an offshoot of BIMTECH in Noida.
During the year 2015, the educational institution came to be known as Birla Global University and was approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The founders of BGU are Dr. Sarala Devi Birla and her husband, Mr. Basant Kumar Birla. The center’s official website is https://www.bgu.ac.in/index.php.
The several schools of BGU include School of Social Science & Humanities, School of Commerce, School of Communication, and School of Management. The University’s different faculties offer a wide variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in disciplines such as Management, Mass Communication, Arts, and Commerce.
As part of the academic activities of BGU are included Meditation & Yoga, Panel Discussions, Business Simulations Role Plays, Classroom Learning, Student Exchange programs, Management Games, Case Studies, Field Research Assignments, and Team Work. Also, the students get the opportunity to interact with industry leaders through guest lectures, workshops, seminars, and industry visits while pursuing the University-based courses.
