In the year 2005, Uttar Pradesh saw a drastic change in law education which has uplifted Law education to be the most lucrative career prospect rather than being an unprofitable career option. This was the year when the Uttar Pradesh Government established Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This is the premier Law College in the country to provide undergraduate and post-graduate legal education in North India. This Public University is entirely financed by the Uttar Pradesh State Government and is recognized by UGC.

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University has a beautiful campus which measures up to 40 acres of land in Lucknow’s most prominent location. Here the admission and selection of the students are decided entirely based upon merits. One has to clear the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which is a centralized test for admission to prominent Law Universities of the country. Currently, this National Law University offers a B.A. LLB (Honours), LLM and other Ph.D. programs.
