Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University was established in 2008 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow. This is the first-ever University in India which exclusively provides education to physically challenged students in a suitable environment. The establishment of this University is a highly innovative method undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh Government which brings the idea of academic and social responsibility under one roof.
This public University is recognized by UGC. The campus of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University is spread over 131 acres of land with well–equipped facilities like Wi-Fi, good infrastructure and other world-class facilities. Moreover, this University is meant for special students but they strictly follow an open and globally recognized system of internal assessment and exam methods, keeping in mind the national and international standards of teaching and research.
